I know a lot of people like Carl x Katia, or Carl x AI, or Ace Carl, But me? Carl x Imani feels very natural/brimming with potential.
- Both are seen as leaders of the guild.
- Both appear to have abusive/tragic family based backstories
- Both can make tough decisions and both are willing to be vulnerable with each other. Imani is lenient with Carl but will absolutely call him out if he’s being self destructive. Carl trusts her to hold her ground but will panic if she’s in trouble.
- While I think Prepodonte/Miriam and Donut/Carl are narrative mirrors (also ask me about Miriam as a potential Madonna), I find plot-wise Imani and Carl are really solid counterparts doing their own story. Katia’s main character development has developed (she will be back). Similar backgrounds, both naturally willing to help others, etc.
In short, I think they complement each other in a way that feels compatible. I do think Carl may of had some tender feelings for Katia, I think together they are too destructive/impulsive to remain compatible.
