Lost and Found- Research/Inspiration
I chose Johansson as I really like the creativity of his images and how he executes them.
Erik Johansson was born April 1985 and is a Swedish artist based in Prague who creates surreal images by recombining photographs and other materials.
I chose Johansson as I really like the creativity of his images and how he executes them. His imagination I think is awesome and I love how invested he is to showing the reality versus fantasy in some of his photographs. I feel this creates a really surreal mood within the viewer as to what 'could be' which then sends you into thinking imagine if life was this way and how we would live as human beings.
Born and living in the Midwest, United States, Logan Zillmer is a conceptual and fine art photographer who creates compositions that wink at surreal artworks.
'logan zillmer manipulates reality as a familiar yet undeniably peculiar place'
'flying cars, walls of fog and windows in the sky define conceptual and fine art photographer logan zillmer‘s experimental and surrealist portfolio of work. recalling the witty and perspective-distorting compositions of rené magritte alongside the imaginative humour of charlie chaplin, zillmer’s illustrations manipulate reality as a familiar yet undeniably peculiar place.
while the famed Belgian painter and English filmmaker are clearly cleverly sourced, Zillmer’s photographic representations are reconstituted for the modern American experience. midwestern landscapes, encountered by the artist in his hometown, meet retro cars and rickshaw-like vehicles that marry fiction and fantasy. complex in-camera techniques combined with a self-taught dexterity of photoshop form a collection of funny and outlandish narratives that both bemuse and amuse the senses.'
