⚠️DISCLAIMER NOTICE⚠️ This photo is not mine! I did not take this photo I grabbed it off the net to use for this piece of writing! The embalming room. The day starts out with a quick cup of coffee, A body is lined up fastened tightly to a trolley. A few quick sips and it’s off he goes. Into the prep room where the embalming fluid flows. Onto the table the cadaver slides identity checked paper work all signed. The body is cleansed with warm soapy water, on a stainless steel table the corpse seems shorter. Formaldehyde fluids are carefully selected, surgical instruments prepped and ready to be tested. With a small incision the process begins, chemicals pumped in bodily fluids drained, the embalmer looks on he has been well trained. As the fluid flows round the body starts to change. Colour restored, features more plump. It’s all because of the embalmers mechanical pump. Tick, tick, tick goes the embalming machine, an hour and half passes a freshly embalmed corpse now all shiny and clean. Eyes and mouth closed there’s nothing much more to do. Sew up the incision and make use of some of that glue. Body dressed and make up applied a coffin now awaits to place the body inside. #funeral #funeraldirector #embalmer #embalming #embalmingroom #preproom #mortuary #embalmingfluid #formaldehyde #chemicals #mortician #morticianlife #undertaker #confessionsofanundertaker #death #deathpositivemovement #deathpositive #poem #poet #poetry #writer #blog #blogger #coffin #casket (at Thornbury, Gloucestershire)
