Continued letter M today! . Played this feed the monkey game from @totschooling that was great! We didn’t play competitively— H rolled the dice, M moved the marker, and they read the number and counted the bananas to feed the monkey together. I was honestly surprised that M knew so many numbers! They played 3/4 times in a row while I was making lunch 💗 . We also talked about magnets today — these magnetic wands were awesome. I can’t believe I didn’t take pics bc their faces were so excited about finding things that stuck to their wands and feeling the magnetic pull. We ended with a file folder activity from @orientaltrading where we sorted things based on whether or not we thought they’d be magnetic. They were mostly wrong but their guesses were super cute 😜. At their age, I feel like the point of any science experiment is just to wonder and ask questions — we did that for sure! . #letterm #totschool #magnets #preschoolscience #earlymathskills https://www.instagram.com/p/CDfYylBlsgX/?igshid=1r18rh252r77n
L is for LOLLIPOP 🍭 Tried out the lollipop lab from @fantasticfunandlearning today! It was really fun. Our 12 year old niece had just as much fun (maybe more?) as H&M. . We sorted dum dums, talked about going from solid to liquid states, and then watched them dissolve. We came back later and did some flavor/color mixing and taste testing. Really easy and fun!! . #preschoolscience #lollipoplab https://www.instagram.com/p/CDP9BMAlgIO/?igshid=1glsssz2lk7nc
Here’s a simple chemistry project for kids to explore – make old pennies shiny and clean again with salt and vinegar! Why do pennies look dull and brown as they age? Well, the copper in pennies reacts with the oxygen in the air to form a new molecule – copper oxide. This is the tarnish …

Callista's first real robot project! We started out thinking we'd make a bristol-bot but then we we're both like 🤔 nah, we can do better! After a quick trip to both our craft bins and the workshop 🔨 we created the floor cleaner bot! 🤖 Callista still wants to add a handle which means extending the button wire. So next we'll be calling in an expert, aka Grandpa, to help us learn how to rewire the switch! 👍 #preschoolscience #futureengineer #becausescience https://www.instagram.com/p/Bpz3bGBA8Yg/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ttxkmn12avft
