Present Past-Cerus/Kara [closed thread]

"Do you need me to get behind the bar?” Cerus asked, Lucy, his chief barrista already rushing away from him, working furiously. It was an extremely busy day, clearly, but she shook her head at him a few moments later. “You stay on your side of the counter, Cerus, and keep out of my way,” she said resolutely, putting a coffee in front of him with a smirk as she spoke. “We got this, we don’t need the boss in here too,” she teased.

Cerus rolled his eyes, looking around the shop instead. It was extremely busy today, so many people-not that he was complaining, really.

Even in the crowd, there was no missing the stunning blonde that pushed into the shop with a sigh, taking a moment by the door to get her bearings. No one he’d seen before, Cerus was bound to remember--if Lucy wasn’t busy, she’d surely have a funny remark as to the fact he never missed the pretty women, he was sure.

Only she wasn’t just pretty, she was gorgeous. Cerus caught himself exhaling slowly as he watched her, doing his best, at the same time, not to be too obvious.
