Week 5 Lessons—Monday
Doubts on Materials, Mockups and Presentation
This week’s lesson was mainly to answer our doubts concerning the interim presentation in the coming weeks and how we can prepare for it. We discussed on the kind of materials we can use, experiment, such as from their characteristics to how it differs from the original state when it is being mixed with another component. During our experimentations we should also consider the media formats that we can explore on such as 2D, 3D, projections, typographical, bound prints and moving images. Each material, method, technique and the amount of practice we put into our experiments makes a big difference in determining whether we can use a particular idea for it. Huei said that it is better to have sketches of the mockup and that there should be another that is redone in illustrator, and is stated the measurements as well. She also reminded us that we should keep to 30 mb for our presentation file size and that we can only bring and show the mockups that are presented in the slides during our presentation.
There are just so many possibilities that we can try on and it will definitely be hard to try and figure out which medium is the best to convey the message correctly and in an appealing manner. And so its time to embark on a journey of experimentation!
