#NewYear #Presition #2022 The #Oxford #Handbook of #Hope explains, the strongest predictor of success is not IQ--it is the level of hope and optimism held. Hope significantly affects goal-directed behavior. Hope is defined as positive expectations about the future despite having concerns of reaching the desired future. Hope, and optimism are as important for success as effective instruction and even ability. People invest their limited resources in feasible futures. Research increasingly supports the importance of cultural intelligence, social/emotional learning, the critical value of relationships, community & brand belonging. The conditioning of childhood poverty, cultural normalising can lead individuals and entrepreneurs to loose hope and a learned helplessness that can result in simply “giving up”. Successful individuals & brands address the challenges of this learned helplessness and modern life focus on social media and the sense of an eternal locus of control which may result; by surrounding themselves with an atmosphere of optimism and high expectations, or a “Culture of Hope.” This can be fostered through community care, a practice of gratitude and charitable support, developing a code of success or a manifesto and aligning your brand with a philanthropic goal or program. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12 NIV Personal branding is the process that takes your skills, personality and unique characteristics and packages them into a powerful identity that lifts you above the crowd.
