A/N: I’ve decided to create a taglist! Let me know if you would like to be added!
A/N: The next chapter has arrived! It took me forever to write this. I’m slowly loosing motivation, but I’ve always hated it when fic end before the conclusion, so i’m continuing to the very end!
I’m probably just going to write a bunch of one-shots or small multi-part fics after this. We’ll see. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter!
If you’re wondering when this fic will end i’m not exactly sure how many total chapters it will have but pretty safe to say probably 15 total. Give or take one or 2 chapters.
Don’t know how I feel about this chapter. It feels rushed :/ but i’m trying to get to my favorite scene of this fic that i’ve had written for a while now.
Taglist is open

Masterlist Previous Chapter Chapter 9
“Robbery at the bank in 24th and South”
Both you and Peter got up, Peter snapping his head at you.
“What are you doing?”
“What do you mean ‘what am I doing ?’” You said as you pressed on your bracelet for your suit to materialize onto you. “There’s a robbery” you continued.
Peter took his shirt and pants off as you turned to mirror to put your hair up.
How is it that it’s easier for me to get into my suit than it is for Peter.
“You’re not going out there” Peter put one leg into his suit, then the 2nd, followed by the rest of his body before pressing the emblem in the middle to compress it to his body.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“You can’t be serious. You don't even know what your power is. You just turned yesterday! Y/N you’re staying here.” Peter got close to the window beginning to leave without you. You were quick to get in front of him placing your hand on his suited chest.
“No, no no. I’m going.”
Peter scrunched his brows and looked at you.
“Peter. Please. Let me go, I-I can’t stay here by myself. I’ll go crazy… but, when i’m with you… it-it hurts less”.
I can’t believe I just said that to his face.
He knew what you meant. He knew that the inhuman process has been hard for you the last 24 hours. Peter inhaled through his nose, then slightly nodded looking you back in the eyes. “Okay. But you are not leaving my sight” The two of you were oddly close. Your interaction had brought both of your faces a mere few inches away from each other. Your heart fluttered, and the two of you stayed close to each other like that, looking each other in the eyes, unmoving, unaware of the time passing, until Tom interrupted.
“Kids, the robbery”
You and Peter snapped out of it, looking away as a slight blush crept to both of your faces and Peter put his mask on. Peter crept up to the window sill of your room, they way you two always did and extended his arm as you got close to him and wrapped his arm around your waist. Releasing his webs to swing you to the robbery, just like you always did. Only this time, it was different. This time the both of you were all too aware how close the two of you were and all too aware how Peter would rub your side unconsciously, that he stopped halfway realizing what he was doing. Suddenly, right now, you were both too aware of each other.
This is weird.
Once the two of you arrived to the bank however, it was business as usual. Pushing aside whatever it was that the two of you were feeling in order to get down to business.
“Ready Spidey?”
“Always”
Spider-Man flew into the bank as you followed swiftly behind him with a knock out gun ready in hand. In front of you, you could see hostages in the ground. You glanced to them then back up to Spider-Man who was speaking in a taunting way to the robbers.
“We’re going to get you guys out of here” you said to those nearest you.
A voice boomed through the tiled covered walls of the bank. People stunned at the sudden roar. “What did she say?!”
You snapped your head up.
Oh crap.
The robbers were all already so paranoid. One of them had heard you and in order to assert his dominance aggressively walked to you with his pistol waving around beside him.
“I was just telling them, they’d be okay. Calm down.” You said though your teeth.
Spider-Man and the other 3 men were looking towards your direction. You nodded to him assuring him you had this, before turning back to the one towards you.
“Calm down? CALM DOWN?! Listen here BITCH, this is my only chance to get rich here. I won’t let some stupid hero’s get in my way.” He spoke with more assertiveness stepping closer and closer to you with each word.
You kept your arms down next to you, with the gun in your right hand. “Aw, you called me a hero. I’m kind of new at this, so hearing that means a lot. Thanks so much” you teased. He looked at you confused as to why you were saying that, slightly taken off guard before you smirked. The two of you made eye contact, knowing what was about to occur. You slowly put your gun back into your holster, bringing your arms up and your right leg forward.
“Let’s get this over with. I’ve got other things i’m dealing with” and with that the two of you began to fight. You were a bit unsure of how Spider-Man was doing, all you could here the thwiping of his webs, something that made all of this, so much easier. Spider-Man could easily take town those 3 while you could easily fight this one guy. The two of you were tussling, at this point, it kind of just felt like a practice fight. He pulled out his gun into your view where you grabbed it, the two of you tugging it between both of you, trying to get the upper hand on it.
Spider-Man, was confused as to why his Spider-sense was going off. He was looking around and while he saw the last of the 3 he was fighting still remained, there wasnt anything they could do that would take him by surprise. Almost as soon as he thwipped the last guy to the wall he heard a gunshot go off. He looked down to his body but saw nothing.
He quickly snapped around seeing as you slowly stubbled back from the guy, seemingly stunned. Spidey looked to the last guy and almost immediately grabbed the gun away from him and stuck him to the floor. He wasn't sure if you had gotten hurt yet, but he was mad that he had let this easy take down go on for as long as it did.
“Get out of here!” He said to the hostages who began getting themselves up. Peter ran up to you seeing the blood around your hands as you held on to your torso. You were standing, slightly hunched over with your hands covering your wound as the red blood spilled in between your fingers and you grinded your teeth together. Your breath was shaking and you were already bringing up a cold sweat.
“Y/N, Wha-what happened. Oh my god, oh my god. You got shot, you for real got shot.” Peter was freaking out, loosing his sense of what to do. You leaned back against a wall in pain for support, closing your eyes and taking deep breaths. Seeing you like that, in so much pain, it broke Peters heart. He couldn't fully understand what he was feeling or why, or even if he wanted to.
I don't like Y/N, I don't like Y/N, I don't like Y/N.
“Spidey, shut up. I-I’m fine. Just hurts like hell.” You thought this would hurt a helluva lot more than it did. You had always imagined that something like a bullet piercing your skin open in such a rate of speed would for sure make you double over in pain. But here you were… standing… in pain of course… but standing, not even having made a single scream. You reached out looking for Peter. As soon as you felt him close you grabbed on to him, needing to feel him close.
Oh fuck, I totally like her.
“You’ve been shot. I should have never let you come. I was stupid!”
You rolled your eyes at him and felt the soreness of the wound.
“Spidey, can we just go please. I’d like to get this bullet out of me. Thank you very much”
“Ri-right. You’re right. Sorry.” Peter grabbed your waist and helped you walk out of the building, you slowly winced whenever you stepped, each step causing the wound and flesh to grind against each other. As soon as you two were out of the building he swung you back home.
He began talking almost immediately as the two of you got back to the compound. “Okay. Let me call Mr. Stark, he-he can help you with that, I mean i’m sure he's gotten shot before. Or maybe thats too basic for him.. well someone could help he—“ Peter was rambling. Something he did whenever he was nervous or unsure.
“Peter.” the pain had subsided, however you felt a soreness on your abdomen which you hoped didn't mean you were dying. I mean, theres no way that you had only gotten shot less than 30 minutes ago and it barely hurts now right? Surely, your wound had gotten so numb that you didn't even know you were currently dying. You pressed on your bracelet, allowing your suit to dematerialize, leaving you in the original tank top and pants you had on before. Peter kept his arms around you, wanting to be sure you were okay, while you slowly rolled your shirt up.
“Does it hurt?” You ignored Peters question as you looked at your wound, getting past all the blood surrounding it.
You could feel Peters breath on your neck as he supported you from behind, looking for the wound as well to see the damage. “What the…” You slapped your hands onto your stomach. It was gone. There was no bullet hole, there was no wound. You smoothed your hands repeatedly over the area where you should've still had the bullet hole.
“Ar-are you sure you got shot?” You looked at Peter disbelievingly. “Peter, look at all this blood, I definitely did. I-I don’t know wha—“
You stopped, yourself. My power. You looked to Peter then walked out of your room, your shirt still rolled up to right below your bra.
“What are you doing?”
You walked into the kitchen opening a drawer.
“And why are you opening a dra—-WHOA WHOA WHOA. What do you think you're doing?!”
You had grabbed a knife from the drawer and brought up to your arm, creating a huge gash in which blood immediately began to flow through.
“ARE YOU CRAZY?!”
You quickly glanced up to Peter, before looking back down to the gash you had created.
I really hope i’m right.
“My inhuman powers…” you started as you threw the knife in the sink. Peter continued staring at you bug eyed with his hands on his head in disbelief. You grabbed a napkin and waited, ignoring the throbbing burning sensation of the cut.
“Just-just give it a sec.” After waiting a couple of minutes you used the napkin to wipe off the blood that had come out of your wound.
Peter brought his hands down and stepped closer to you. “Whoa” It was gone. Besides the blood on your arm, there was no indication or evidence that you had hurt yourself.
“Peter, I think I can heal myself.”
“So… you can’t get hurt?”
“Yeah, no. I definitely can. That gun shot? Hurt like hell. But I can heal. So i’m guessing, as long as I don't get blown up to pieces… I can’t die?”
Peter was still taking all of it in. He thought his radioactive spider bite was weird, but this, well this, beat that. “Cool”
You moved so the two of you were standing on opposite ends of the kitchen. Unsure of how to continue from here.
“Business as usual? Only difference is that I have this… enhanced ability… I guess”
“None of this tells us how this even happened in the first place. How did you have that Alien DNA in you when you’re from a dimension where none of this exists?”
You brought your shirt back down and lifted yourself up onto the kitchen counter. “I don’t know. I mean, I can only assume that somehow this portal has opened before and people got through to my world? I’m not sure, but somehow, it all works out.”
“So, now that we know your ability… can we tell Mr. Stark now?”
“Tell me what?”
You straightened out your back as you looked towards the voice, Peter quickly bringing his right hand up to the back of his head. Tony came into view seemingly out of no where into the kitchen.
“M-M- Mr. Stark!” Peter looked between you and Tony, nervous that perhaps you didn't want to tell Tony just yet and now he knows you're hiding something.
You looked to Peter before jumping off the counter and looking to Tony.
“You know I am currently living here right? And why do you have blood all over you Hopper?” Tony said to Peter as a response to his nervousness and surprise and then to you.
“Yeah, uhm Mr. Stark. I need to tell you something”
Tony furrowed his eyebrows waiting for your response, cocking his head just a bit to the side.
“The other day… Peter and I were out on patrol. We-we got caught up in some weird Alien tech thing—“ You paused, you didn't know why you were so nervous, but your heart was making that obvious for you and Peter. You glanced over to him and he gave you a slight nod of support.
“Turns out, it was a front for some weird… inhuman thing. Ha-Have you heard about the Inhumans?”
Tony nodded “of course I have, not only was it in the news like everywhere when everyone first began getting exposed, but I actually helped Shield with an inhuman incubation chamber”
“Incubation… chamb— OKAY. Anyways… well I was exposed to the toxin… Mr. Stark” Tony looked to Peter then back to you. “And you obviously didn’t turn to ash… Are you—are you telling me you’re an inhuman?”
You pursed your lips and nodded.
“Yeah, I—I can heal myself.”
Tony looked at you, you couldn't read his face, nor could you tell what he was thinking. Peter looked at you confused at the moment of pause then back to Tony, his mouth slightly parting.
“Is that it?”
You shook your head at his response surprised.
“What do you mean ‘is that it?’” Peter asked for you.
Tony looked to Peter nonchalantly. “Look kid, i’ve dealt with Aliens, super human soldiers, dimension hopping—“ Tony said that part looking at you. “and inhuman’s. From experience, theres always more”
You brought your hands out, letting them fall back down with a slapping sound.
“Well, there isn’t more, as far as I know… this is it.”
“Nah, no. I don’t believe that.”
I crossed my arms and put my weight onto one hip.
“Eh, we’ll find out later—“
“Mr. Stark. What do I do?”
Tony looked between you and Peter. “I mean, what have you been doing?” Tony shrugged before continuing. “Just keep doing it. The same way i’m here for Spiderling over here, I can help you out the same way Hopper”
You let out a sly smile, glancing at Peter who smiled at you back.
“Re-really? Wow, I-I was not.… expecting this. I was sort of expecting some sort of surprise… maybe tests? or whatever. But, this is the MCU, so I probably shouldn't be”
Tony shrugged. “Just don’t do anything stupid.”
You looked to Peter with a big smile on your face.
“I guess we’re a team… partner”
Peter arched an eyebrow. “What’s your superhero name?”
Without hesitation you slyly smiled.
“Nova.”
Peter smiled back at you, knowing that your superhero name was based off your sister. Tony nodded, speaking allowed what you were all thinking.
“Spider-Man and Nova…. I like it.”
//
After your revelation you spent the next few days trying to find out if there was anything else you could do but to no avail. You stayed inside a lot of time purposely hurting yourself to see the extent to your healing abilities, something Peter would stop immediately whenever he was around.
“Just test it when we’re out on patrol or something!” Peter would say. Peter was with you consistently. He couldn’t lie, you getting shot scared him half to death. It also showed him that he had fallen for you, slowly and then swiftly. He didn't know how you felt about him, but he knew he wanted to give it a shot. You had been training all day. You were not only physically exhausted but mentally as well. Peter had stayed by your side consistently.
“Peter, you should head home” You said as you brought your hands down from the punching bag. Peter continued looking at the floor not hearing you. “Peter..” you said once more. When he didn’t respond the second time you went up to him and crouched down to his level. “Peter.” He jolted up in response looking up to you in a daze. “You okay?”
He shook his head a bit to be more aware before answering. “Yeah, sorry. I-I just zoned out.”
You nodded as you stood up. “You should go home. You’ve been staying at the compound since everything happened. I’m sure May would love to have you stay with her again”
“Yeah, maybe…”
You nodded and began going back to the punching bag you were practicing on.
“Y/N?” You stopped and turned back to Peter. “Do you— do you want to go out… to like MoMA?”
“You mean the museum of modern art?”
Peter nodded. “Yeah, I-I mean. I think it would be fun, and a good place for you to catch a-a break. With-with me…” Peter was nervous. He was asking this as a way of a date, and while in his head thats exactly how he thought he was describing it as, you took it as Peter trying to be a good friend. Never in a million years would you have thought that Peter Parker had feelings for you. So never in a million years would you have suspected that this was a date to Peter Parker.
“Yeah, actually. Thats sounds really nice” You smiled.
“Really?” Peters eyes lit up.
“Yeah, definitely”
And thats how you landed here the next day, at the modern museum of art with Peter, you completely oblivious to the fact that to him this was a date. He never left your side as you strolled through the museum looking at all the art displayed. Most of the time you thought to yourself how similar this MoMA was to the one in your dimension. You stopped at one particular at piece of random shapes. “You like this one?” Peter asked, his hands in his pockets.
You turned to him and then back to the piece. “It reminds me of you guys” Peter turned his head to you a little confused. “I mean.. look at the colors. Red, blue, gold, yellow, black, green, it’s all in this one piece, seemingly chaotically, but if you really look at it they each have a purpose, and in the end—“ you said as you took stepped back revealing that the art piece changed to a more linear put together piece “It all fits… and it just works… this is literally the Avengers”. As you continued staring, Peter looked to you. Taking in your features, the way a dimples formed on your cheeks, but only when you smiled wide enough, the way you looked so interested in the art. He realized that he had always liked you, unconsciously he knew that, but you were always dealing with something new that he never thought of what those feelings might mean to him, he never game himself the chance to think of you that way, but now… that was all he thought about.
“Y/N, you’re amazing, I really don't know why we waited so long to do this..” You looked to Peter a bit confused as to what he meant by that, but before you could answer you heard someone calling out for you.
“Y/N!”
“Huh?” You looked around. Peter mildy perplexed as well that anyone other than himself and the Avengers knew you. From within the crowd came the one friend that you had managed to make so far… Jess.
“Oh, Jess… hey!” Jess came up to you with a bright smile on her face. Peter looked between the two of you, still unaware of what was going on.
“Uh, Peter. This is… Jess. She’s a friend, I met her at uh kickboxing. Jess, this is…. Peter, Peter Parker.” Jess and Peter both looked at each other then took a step closer in order to shake hands, and exchange hello’s. Jess turned back to you, adjusting her purse over her shoulder as she held her phone in her opposite hand. “I’ve been trying to get into contact with you! What are you doing over here?”
You tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear. “Sorry, i’ve just been… really busy. But uh, we’re just—“
“Oh my gosh…” Jess interrupted. “Are you two on a date?”
Your eyes widened while Peter’s cheeks heated up.
“Yes”
“No” Both you and Peter said at the same time.
Jess cocked her head in confusion. “Oh…”
Peter turned to you “Wait… this isn't a date?”
You sucked your breath in, glancing at Jess. “I’m sorry.. uh i’m just going to stand… over here.. okay bye.”
“I-I didn’t realize this was a date Peter..” Peter took a step back, shocked.
“What do you mean you didn't realize this was a date?” He was getting upset and his tone was making you defensive. “Well when you asked to go to MoMA you didn't exactly describe it as a date. Peter. I-I thought this was a friend thing!”
Peter let out a huff of air, before grabbing your arm and taking you to the side to speak privately.
“I-I didnt even realize that you liked me.”
What are you doing Y/N.
“I-I don’t like you.” He denied. You scrunched your face into one of disbelief and confusion.
“But you said… this was a date?”
Peter being Peter, panicked. He thought that he had not only screwed this all up but that you had no feelings for him what so ever, so he did what he thought was best. He lied.
“No- I don't like you. I was confused. I figured maybe going out tonight would help, and it did. I definitely do not like you Y/N.”
You’re an idiot.
“Oh” You swear your heart dropped a thousand feet beneath the ground. You liked Peter, of course you did. I mean who wouldn’t? And here he was literally telling you he had no feelings for you.
“Well… good. Cause I wouldn't want to mess with the timeline, you know? You’re supposed to be with MJ… so..” You concluded speaking softly. The two of you stayed there, both heart broken over what just happened, both completely unaware of the feelings the two of you had for each other.
“You know what, i’m actually not feeling that great.. i’m ready to head back” Peter said timidly.
“Uhm, you go ahead without me. I-I’ll catch a ride with Jess or something..” You did not want to get caught in an awkward Lyft ride with the guy who basically just rejected you.
Peter nodded, muttering a soft bye before leaving you there, by yourself.
