The Saxophone was invented in Belgium in 1840, by Adolphe Sax... so there are about 100 years between this album and the instrument's invention without taking into account the time it took for the instrument to enter the English language, so if you find any earlier instances, let us know 😂 . . . Pictured is 1959 Original US Mono Prestige "Bergenfield" address of 4 serious Sax players from the early to mid 50s. We hi-light Coleman Hawkins here, as had a very successful career, and is considered to be the one who popularized the saxophone in jazz. His career spanned decades, and many "bop" jazz musicians allude to him as their inspiration.
