I was called out by nahhhimgood to do the pretty face challenge. I accepted because let's face it, I’m vain like that.
I’m calling out my bloggistas nzingasconquests, theoblongtable, hautelantabella, darias-sarcasm, foreverevolvingbeauty, southrnbird, enticingviolets, samberwhite
P.S it’s my bday. So excuse my quiet Virgo turn up
I thought the pretty face challenge was posting pics without makeup
Pretty Face Challenge
I was challenged to post a collage of pictures that I believe to be some of my prettiest. I initially felt like I wouldn't find any. Often I don't feel pretty. This is not necessarily a bad thing. I do care about my outward appearance. I own makeup. I have learned different ways to style my hair. I have a few pieces of nice clothing that I wear. However, none of those things make me feel pretty all around. What I mean is that when I look good on the outside I don't always feel good on the inside. It is common for all of us to put on a show for everyone around us. Its part of life. We want to appear confident and carefree even though we carry these thoughts of insecurity and or negativity about ourselves. I felt like this pretty girl challenge was meant to be more than just posting pictures. Maybe it wasn't. But I can't post (which I WILL post) pictures of myself without an explanation of some sort. All that to say . . . I feel prettiest when I am not thinking about myself. I feel prettiest when my smile isn't the only one in the room. I feel prettiest in the midst of accomplishing a task. I feel prettiest when I laugh. I feel prettiest when my mom tells me she loves me unconditionally. I feel prettiest when I am surrounded by people who genuinely care about me. I feel prettiest when no one is around and I all I have is a quiet room to talk to my Abba in. I feel prettiest when my friends feel pretty (sounds weird and creepy...but I truly light up when I can sense someone I love is feeling like they are beautiful). Maybe I did this challenge wrong. Maybe I need to stick to blogging nonsense like this to strangers. But I wanted to make sure someone knew that looking pretty is not as rewarding as feeling pretty. So when I post my pictures, they won't be pictures of when I necessarily looked pretty. But I definitely felt pretty. And its okay to feel pretty. Its okay to want to feel pretty. (I just googled the pretty girl challenge...its didn't say to make a status of explaining your pretty girl pictures let alone write an essay on the topic but I did...so don't hate me) Pictures will be up when I narrow down the count. haha! I will also actually challenge other people when I put up my pretty faces.
^^the above is a copied post from my facebook. I wrote it earlier today and was surprised that people found value in my words.
