The original promo double vinyl of the Lost Boyz’s debut includes a handful of tracks that didn’t make the retail edition (”Party Joint,” “Niggaz Don’t Want It,” “Summertime In The City”) as well as an alternate version of “Renee.” It’s Clark Kent’s original production of “Get Up” that’s my personal favorite though. Due to whatever sample clearance issues, the Stephanie Mills sample (”What Cha’ Gonna Do With My Lovin’”) had to be replayed when it made the retail album, but Clark went straight for a direct sample from the original recording, and it sounds that much more potent. Judge for yourself.

And if anyone can tell me what the fuck Pretty Lou did in the Lost Boyz, get at me.
