I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
lol i feel like fic writing and reading itself is a guilty pleasure all on its own for me 😂😂😂 i would say reading smut and stuff but it’s become such a regular occurrence that i don’t even feel that ashamed anymore ._. like i still won’t talk to it to anybody but you guys (the Internet, lol), but you get the point--it’s kind of like a given at this point. reading smut or porn? well at least one has decent plot and character development most of the times ;))))))))))))
the tru guilty pleasure is probably that animal traits shiet. cause it comes with the “IM NOT A FURRY” disclaimer and is hard to describe. but cmon y’all ALL have put on cat headbands to emphasize cuteness and think AOA’s Like A Cat was hot af so come fight me XD
also, officer!jeon and officeworker!jimin is always a guilty pleasure. i’m surprised it’s not more popular. perhaps it’s the subconscious war flashbacks to all the sketchiness that ensued during the filming and such but still one of my favourite images of them ever. besides, they keep putting jeon back in that uniform and e every time they end up flirty so what am i supposed to think (not even mentioning the weird arrest me shiet)

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
i wouldn’t say there’s absolutely nothing i can’t stand, cause my disclaimer is that lot of things no matter how turn off they may be at first to me can be a great read when the writer is talented af
so i like plots and characters that develop very well and make sense. i don’t mind clichés because i often find them relatable and easy to read, but what i do mind is when the characters are pre-destined to love each other due to an external factor. So these are AUs like soulmates, ABO...etc. where no matter what they have kind of pre obligation to be with each other that requires no real descriptive justification. It’s kind of hard to explain but basically I find it often takes out a lot of the story-telling elements, and the writing can often be served on a platter e.g. how do i get the plot moving...MAKE HIM GO INTO HEAT. suddenly, everything that normally takes time, interaction and dialogue to build up can get thrown out the window, such that the characters love each other not because of their personality or any interaction that usually builds a good story persay, but instead due to a certain predisposition.
when i was younger i read a lot of shoujo manga, and the more mature ones almost always had cases of dubious or even non consent, and i can tell the authors usually justified all this with the defence that the two main characters would end up being together anyway, so it doesn’t matter if he’s forcing her. because theyre "meant to be". which isn’t...wrong persay in a story sense, because the author wrote it so it’s their interpretation. they could easily use the “soulmate” argument cause it’s their story, even if i was not okay with how the couples developed. so as i got older i became really aware of that, and as a result i gained a huge preference towards stories that had a reason for the couple to want to be together. even if it’s a cliché reason or even based off of who we know them as in the real world, it’s still better than “oh, they fucked cause they were meant to”
but like i said, i’ve read a lot of things with ABO AUs that end up awesome, usually because they are unique and break down the world or write the characters out of the typical stereotypes. so as long as effort is put into an intriguing plot i’ll usually like it no matter what it is XD
