Comparing Matthew and Mark
So, if you read Matthew 26: 1-14, it talks about how Jesus was anointed by a sinful woman. It also talks about how after the sinful woman had poured the expensive perfume onto Jesus’ head, the disciples started to bother her and tell her that she shouldn’t have wasted the perfume and that she should’ve sold it for the poor. Then jesus tells them that they need to stop picking on her because what she has done was a beautiful thing and that the whole world will here of her great deed. If you compare these few verses of Matthew with Mark 14 :1-11, they are pretty similar! They both use the same words when Jesus is talking about the sinful woman, and they both talk about the expensive perfume that the sinful woman poured onto Jesus’ head. There are a lot of other similarities but it’s pretty crazy how similar these two passages are to one another!
