1/31/17@stealingheartsrescue ❤️KENNA❤*PUP-DATE*Owning a rescue I realized two things: One, running a rescue should be handled as "a business" in order to survive. And two, having a heart makes One difficult at times. Making smart business decisions is not easy when I see dogs in need that I want to help. Such is the case with Kenna, my latest "heart decision". Kenna is a TEN year old pitbull that was hit by a car and than sat in a County shelter for a week with her jaw hanging half off. She was emaciated, her body infected and still amazingly loving. One look at her and I could see her will to survive. Bad business decision made! Off we go to the vet who fixed what they could with drain tubes and stitches. Next the dental specialist who did an amazing job - removing pieces of bone, teeth and rebuilt her jaw. Kenna came to my house one month ago - look at her now! What a difference a little love makes! She has gained 15 pounds and every day I see more of her personality. She greets me with a huge smile, (toothless though it may be) madly wagging tail and with a crazy bounce. Everyone who meets her falls in love immediately - you just can't help it! Just thinking about her makes me smile, what an amazing dog. The shape of her body alone leads me to believe that her life hasn't been easy and yet she wants nothing more than to snuggle close and give me love! Rescue is so hard, heartbreaking and emotionally draining - just when I need a reason to continue - I got one.
