A twist on the classic Cuban sandwich, The Pretzel Cuban features the delicious combination of ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, and pickles, all nestled between a soft pretzel bun. The addition of mustard and mayonnaise adds tanginess and creaminess, while grilling the sandwich to perfection gives it a crispy exterior and gooey interior.
Ingredients: 1 pretzel bun, sliced. 4 slices of ham. 4 slices of roasted pork. 4 slices of Swiss cheese. 4 slices of dill pickles. 2 tablespoons yellow mustard. 2 tablespoons mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon butter.
Instructions: Preheat a pan or sandwich press over medium heat. Spread mustard on one half of the pretzel bun and mayonnaise on the other half. Layer ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, and pickles on one half of the pretzel bun. Top with the other half of the pretzel bun. Spread butter on the outside of the sandwich. Place the sandwich on the pan or sandwich press and cook until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Slice the sandwich in half and serve hot.
