My top 23 Thai pop songs of the year (2023)
Not that anyone cares but here's my list of my favorite releases, to be fair I don't listen to THAT many artists compared to kpop but still a lot of solid releases this year!
1. Mai Davika - Mr. Daydream : for some reason this song is entirely in English but whatever, it's a very dreamy pop song, I love drifting away with this song on 😔🤟
2. JustmineNika - Just Kid(ding) : a very cute duo, the song is very simple but cute, I love the simplicity of the track and the catchy hook and very memorable verses, also the aesthetic for this era was super cute!
3. Pretzelle - U R Mine : truly the queens of t-pop! We love the Bob's™! Also Chokun of Proxie made a cameo in the MV which was adorable! I always quote to myself "oh my God this guy is so hot" to myself 🤣
4. Proxie - Blurrr : these boys debuted last year and this year have been incredibly busy building their flawless discography, despite the questionable fashion choices this era, this song is super cute!
5. Proxie - Crush : sadly a short song but super fun and bouncy production
6. Milli & Bowkylion - Boy Pablo (บอยพาโบ้ ) : technically this song was on a album last year but got an MV this year so I'm counting it. The song itself is very catchy, Milli does her little sing rap and Bowkylion sings very beautiful on the chorus and gives us some nice high notes at the end. The MV was super odd, they animorphed into dogs I understand why it happened but still odd, plus Onglee of Proxie in the MV sadly doing that BL pipeline stuff 😔🤟 but hey we love an ally
7. MXFRUIT - Strawberry Ice Cream : Mind you, this is their debut song! Super cute and fun, highly catchy, also entirely in English but oh well, best GG to debut this year period.
8. MXFRUIT - I'm Here! : fun vocals, catchy melody, the production gets stuck in your head instantly like they're going down in HERstory for this one.
9. MXFRUIT - What Do I Do : their 'ballad' track, super pretty, their vocals are nice and fun song to sing along too.
10. Proxie - On That Day : a very nostalgic track, kinda reminds me of Backstreet Boys/NSYNC boy group days, also we love a random ice hockey 🏒 concept for the MV it was very AOA of them.
11. Bowkylion - Mint : Her music is very pretty and laid back, the melody of the production gets stuck in my head very easily also her MVs always have an interesting story 😔🤟 we love a fortune teller 🔮
12. 4Eve - I Like Boys : kinda has a Hyoyeon vibe to it, my favorite part of the track is the chorus, the first part is super catchy with the 'tell all your friends~ I'm so into them~" and then second part of the chorus with it's " dadada" part.
13. 4Eve - Life Boy : I do consider songs like ILB and Vroom Vroom etc to be their 'cignature' sound, I do enjoy when they branch out. While this did kinda follow the trends it was still done well and with their own style.
14. Serious Bacon - Best Friend 4Ever : a great coed duo, while they aren't quite on the same level as AKMU their music is still very nice and their voices pair well together.
15. FLI:P - Choose (ปักเม) : an interesting coed trio that debuted this year, their tagline is "I don't give a flip" which is cool however, their typical music vibe is best described as Six Flags/Amusement Park music and no that's not really a compliment... however they released this beautiful track while it does follow the t-pop trends and give their group a different vibe it's very welcomed, kinda like when NMIXX debuted with their MIXX pop and dropped it for Love Me Like This. Granted since this release they have had a few comebacks one of which was literally a song for an amusement park, so as to whether they'll drop another song like this seems far off I fear.... I don't hate the amusement park music but I don't love it either 🤔
16. LAZ1 - OMG : while Proxie is my main t-pop boy group, I have checked out a few more. LAZ1 have some songs that are nice, this song is quite catchy!
17. Proxie - Hurting : their emo boy era 😔 singing in the rain and everything, we were really going through it.
18. Bowkylion & The Toys - Fever : a solid duet, their voices meshed well together, her voice is so calming 🥰
19. Pretzelle - No Choice : It's not often we get slower tracks from Pretzelle but they're always welcomed 🤗
20. Bowkylion - The Kisses : it's kinda crazy this just a CF song for lipstick, love the trumpets on the production
21. RedSpin - YaA! : sadly they took a long break and finally came back (after losing another member), while this song is very different from their previous iconic singles The Front Person, Chop Chop! and Multiverse, this song was very catchy and good, loved the attitude! It's nice to expand their sound a bit.
22. 4eve - Tears : their typical sound is very attitude heavy but this song was a nice vulnerable ballad track, fingers crossed we can get some more in the future
23. Atlas - Mangosteen : Atlas is another boy group I keep tabs on, their music is a little all over the place, Mr Lonely is favorite track from them which came out last year, really loved the simple retro vibe it had. This year they've released several singles, they had an emo boy era, cute boy era, piano ballad era etc but this one was my favorite of the bunch. This song does have a retro feel but it's far more upbeat and in your face than Mr Lonely was, a nice earworm.

PP Krit, PiXXiE, bamm, Perses, Slow Sundae, DIDIxDADA and of course the other tracks released Proxie, Pretzelle etc!!
