idk what you're referring to hebebebe but I think the reason a lot of white people dont say 'brown' is it can be considered offensive?? that's why I don't say it

oh i’m referring to people describing lance as ‘tan’ instead of just saying brown. 

but honestly i see your point but only in the case where the dark skinned characters are being the only ones having their skin tones being described as if like white or lightskinned is the default. some people find it offensive, so i’m not gonna say that most people don’t. not really my place either because i’m very light skinned.

but there are like non offensive ways to describe skin color that isn’t just tanned. there’s a lot of writing blogs that help with describing it (writingwithcolor is the first that comes to mind) and there are plenty of art tutorials that help with coloring skin tones. also the color picker where you can just pick lance’s skin color from a screencap. there’s no really any good excuse for lance to be “tan” you know?
