5 Tips to Minimize Bruising from Botox
I used Botox® and it is great to refresh one’s look; however, complications, such as bruising, may happen after the procedure. Thankfully, if you are well-prepared for this step, then the possibilities of bruising are minimized and you are free to admire your new look. Key Tips to Prevent Bruising:
Avoid NSAIDs: Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen a week before the appointment. These medicines help reduce the blood clotting ability, which increases the risk of getting bruises easily.
Skip Certain Supplements: Some other nutritional supplements like vitamin E, garlic and ginkgo biloba also contribute to easy bruising. They have advised me to stay away from them in the days preceding my treatment.
Apply Ice: Apply an ice pack to the injected area as soon as you are through with the administration of your shot. It also aids in clamping the blood vessels and thereby minimizes the chances of having bruises.
Try Arnica: Arnica is a natural medicine that helps in speedy recovery from injuries and reduces chances of getting a bruise. You can get it as cream or in tablet form at the nearest drug store.
Avoid Alcohol: Avoid using any alcohol one day before and a day after your procedure. It may also cause an abnormality in the coagulation pathway, therefore raising the chance of bruising.
If you follow the tips outlined above, you should be able to improve your Botox experience and the outcome you are left with.
