this video is just hard to watch. it’s hard to admit how much i relate to most of the stories that this video tells.
right now, poland is a horrible place to live. our government is downright awful, not only because they terrorize everyone that doesn’t agree with them but also because they are destroying the families they treasure so much. everything they do is to “protect polish families” but with their propaganda they’re doing anything but. i always felt that but after watching this video i finally know how to put it in words.
my parents love our ruling party, especially my mother. anytime i don’t agree with them, they attack me. my dad tries to reason with me, sometimes we just calmly exchange our opinions, and that’s fine. i wish he wouldn’t think a certain way sometimes, but i guess at least he’s civil. my mom on the other hand, spends entire days on twitter and fills herself with mean and harmful comments of old conservative men. later, on top of that, she watches tvp and takes everything as they show it is. and it’s just so ironic to me. the people that in their youth fought with the goverment because they refused to surrender themselves to the system that existed, right now are giving themselves up to another propaganda. it’s just a little different this time, that’s all.
i can’t say i love my parents, i don’t think i ever did. i am glad that they raised me, gave me a family (even though these are bare minimum of what a parent should do). but it saddens me extremely that they can never find out the truth about their own daughter. i mean, i could tell them once i move out for good. but i really feel that we wouldn’t keep in touch after that. or maybe we would but it would so strained that it wouldn’t even make sense to try and communicate. and what i am angry about is that it’s mostly not their fault but some old guy who thinks of himself as some god. it’s sad that so many families are destroyed because a hidden dictator wants to keep ruling in our country.
i really hate this country for what it turned into. i hate that any sign of resistence is compared to nazi germany, that everyone that is slightly different becomes an enemy and their sole purpose is to destroy this country, our culture and everything that we love. and lastly i hate the fact that this country instead of developing is becoming more and more closed off and frankly is regressing to middle ages.
i hope this video has english subtitles in the future so that more people can understand how important things are happening in poland right now.
