I was just talking with my mom who works as a cashier in one of the shops in out town. She was telling me about the daughter of this lady she knows.

The daughter is maybe 30? and she was pregnant for the third time. Everyone was happy yay children yadda, she was on her third month and she started noticing blood so she went to the doctor and the doctor said the child was dead. BUT because I live in fucking Poland, the doctor sent her home.

After three days she miscarried and had to go BACK TO THE HOSPITAL WITH THE DEAD CHILD.

And I am not blaming the doctor. I couldn't. They were literally in front of a wall, because if they got the dead thing out of her body, they could be accused of performing an abortion and taken their rights to perform the job away.

So there's this lady, two children who were already told they were gonna have a sibling, ones first communion is in a couple of weeks and then that happens.

I cannot imagine what it must've felt to one day being excited about an important event in your child's life and the second learning that you're walking around with a corpse in your body.

So just remember, ABORTION IS ILLEGAL IN POLAND. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST INCIDENT OF THIS HAPPENING. A couple years ago there was this incident that made the news about a woman dying of sepsis because she miscarried and they couldn't get the infant out of her body, because that would've counted as an abortion.

People don't vote because they don't care and then shit like this happens right under their noses.

I have no words. Just rage, disgust, fear, sadness. Overturning Roe v Wade is oppression, sexism, and classism. I’m beyond sick and ashamed to be an American, scared for the future and what else the government has in store. BECAUSE THEY WON’T STOP AT ROE! 

If you are not able to get out to protest or support in person, there are many ways you can engage and support otherwise! You can donate to abortion funds and organizations. You can share links to resources for abortions and birth control throughout social media to help spread information and awareness.

*Polish post - book recommendation*

Bardzo polecam tę książkę - jedna z lepszych w temacie feminizmu, jaką czytałam. Opisuje historie polskich kobiet z rożnych warstw społecznych, mające miejsce na przestrzeni ostatnich 100 lat - historie trudne, poruszające, wzbudzające żal i złość, ale też nadzieję. Historie przestawiające różne aspekty walki o prawa i godność kobiet - walki, która trwa do dziś i daleka jest od zakończenia. Wg mnie lektura obowiązkowa dla każdej polskiej kobiety, niezależnie od stopnia zainteresowania feminizmem.

trzeba zablokować antyaborcjonistów pod szpitalem w Oleśnicy, pewnie wiecie, że robią tam aborcje zgodnie z prawem, mimo to notorycznie przeprowadzane są tam demonstracje i zastraszanie zarówno pacjentek jak i lekarzy.

Została zrobiona petycja do prezydenta Oleśnicy w tej sprawie, miejmy nadzieję, że będzie działane.

Stop prześladowaniu aborcji w Oleśnicy!

To jest odpowiedni czas, by skończyć z zastraszaniem personelu medycznego i narażaniem pacjentek na niepotrzebny stres.

Polish politicians want to pass new legislation regarding abortion:

- abortion completely banned, no exceptions (health problems, rape), forcing to give birth even when pregnancies threaten our life and health

- punishing everyone involved in the procedure of an abortion: the person performing the abortion, assistants / helpers and the person terminating the pregnancy

- adding to the penal code the provision: “a child is a human being from conception to reaching the age of 18"

- equating the legal status of a fertilized egg with that of a human being already born (embryo=child)

- “there’s no reason why these women should not be punished for killing a human being .” yes, that's a quote.

remainder of what happened in 2020:

if a woman learns her child didn’t developed an organ or something else is wrong and it’s going to be permanently damaged or dead within few days after being born she can’t remove it. she can wait, then take that newborn to the hospice. This is how inhumane polish government is.

fyi, polish minister of education is saying that poland is “failing” because of lazy women who don’t want to birth children.
