happy pride city of Boston
I had the joy of being in the parade this year! Happy pride, and shout out to everyone participating in the no kings protest. There wasn't a single section of crowd along the entire parade route that didn't have people with signs. The commons and throughout the nearby green line stops also had people walking all throughout.
Here's some of the resources I picked up while I was there!
my friend and I ran into a photographer, apparently all photos from the event will be posted at this link tomorrow!
ran into a whole table of bisexual resources. they had a lot of handouts and flyers but I recommend checking out their sites
bisexual killjoy podcast, bisexual resource center, bi health month
the Massachusetts commission on LGBTQ+ Youth is holding a Youth Day on the 30th. It's a time for young people to speak with representatives about issues affecting them.
Resources and advocacy work for trans people, programs that may be helpful, events, and more!
Boston black pride is happening on July 6th, and is free to attend!

Hey since I always see you posting about genders and stuff I thought maybe you could help me? I've been always thinking I was a girl because I was raised like so and that's my sex but then I just got confused because I feel like gender based stuff is stupid but I respect people who identify with a gender specially when it's not their sex but how do I know what my gender is? I don't feel like Yes I'm a girl but neither yes I'm a boy. you know what I mean? thank you lovely xx
Hello my lovely, lovely anon! I can try my very best!
I think I know what mean with not being 100% certain that your gender is one or the other, and I would say that if you wouldn’t call yourself a girl or a guy, that’s totally rad. Gender identity is something very personal and usually unique to an individual, so it’s something that you can figure out by exploring your own feelings about the matter!
Discovering your gender can be a confusing thing, because it's hard to express a feeling for which there isn't always a specific word, as describing how you feel takes a lot of introspection and then finding the words to explain it to yourself and others. I can give some examples of non-binary terms, but you might find it useful to look into these in some more depth to see if there is one that you feel describes how you feel!
Genderqueer, as an umbrella term for non-binary gender identities, is often a good starting point and the wikipedia page for it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genderqueer) seems to be very good for an introduction to the topic, as well as including some of the pronouns that are used by non-binary folk! Also, the gender wiki has a smaller page about it, but may also be a good place to look for more information (http://gender.wikia.com/wiki/Genderqueer)! It may be that you identify as genderfluid, meaning your gender identity fluctuates, or that you ID as a wholly different gender that exists within the beautifully diverse cloud of gender identities.I would recommend having a look at some resources, for instance the blog fairysharkmother is incredibly useful, and if you type a word into the search bar there are usually some very useful posts from questions that people have asked, or links to further blogs or posts! In conclusion, I know this all can be overwhelming and confusing, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. I hope this has helped somewhat, and I wish you all the best in this!it's okay to feel confused about this stuff, but I'm proud of you for asking yourself these questions, and with some time looking at your own feelings and convictions, you will be able to hopefully find a way to express what you know to be true about your gender with certainty. And remember, this certainty doesn't have to be permanent: you might change your mind, and that's okay! Have patience with yourself, and explore your feelings.
Hopefully this response was helpful, and I answered your question appropriately!
You're a wonderful person, and you deserve to feel at ease and comfortable!
All the best, lovely, and thank you! xx
I think I'm straight but there are some girls who I feel something for? Like I could be with them in some kind of relationship because their personality attracts me but I'd not kiss or have intimate phisical contact. (With boys instead I feel attracted in every way) Is there a name for this sexuality or orientation? (Idek how to name it) thnx :-)
Hello! Thank you for your question!
Firstly, romantic orientation and sexual orientation are two different kettles of fish, so it’s good to distinguish between them (if you so desire) as you have done here!
Secondly, from what you have said, I can give it a guess, but what you decide to call your orientation and yourself is, ultimately, your decision, so feel absolutely free to not agree with me!
It sounds like you feel a romantic attraction to guys and girls, which would make your romantic orientation biromantic (or panromantic, depending on your personal preference with regards to genders)! And, as you said of yourself that you think you are straight, so that would make your sexual orientation heterosexual!
That would make you biromantic heterosexual! Of course, you don't have to use that term, but that is one way of describing your romantic and sexual orientations!
All the best, hun, best wishes!
