PROMPT 3: Ribbons

Summary: Who knew a ribbon could be the catalyst for a relationship?

“Yuugi, for the last time, I am not going to put on any more spikes!”

Yuugi rolled his eyes and set the spiked, collar necklace back on the desk. “Oh come on, you already have spiked bracelets, and spikes on the fronts of your shoes, what is one necklace going to do?”

“Throw off the entire look, duh,” Atem huffed and turned back to the mirror, checking over his attire. He was going out tonight, and he wanted to look his best. He found his favorite, and tightest, black pants with strategic rips, a nice and tight band t-shirt with the sleeves ripped off and slight tears all along the back and sides. He finished the look with some leather, spiked bracelets, polished boots with a heel, and a dusting of eye makeup to finish the look. He considered some light lip gloss, but decided it may be too much to start.

This was a first date, after all, and he wanted to make sure it went well.

PROMPT 12: City Lights

Summary: Atem needs to get away. Seto knows exactly where to go

Quietness.

The world had changed since the last time Atem was alive, and considerably louder. The sights, sounds, and even the people, sometimes became too much for him. Every sound scratched at his brain, the constant wave of ups and down in volumes and eventually even his friends’ presence caused irritation. He would snap and huff, wanting to tear his very skin off because everything became itchy. One time he even snapped at Seto so badly he felt tears start running down his face. It only took one time for his boyfriend to understand what was going on.

Prompt 2: Blushing

There is something to be said about a person who does not blush. Upon first inspection, one might think said person is not one to be embarrassed easily, whether by themselves or by other people. One could also say that they have a strong sense of confidence which allows them to overcome whatever situation they are placed in that would make any normal human being go red in the cheeks. Did this non-blushing person have no true emotion? Were they robots? Or are they that arrogantly confident they can withstand anything?

Not for “normal” people.

Crush walks by? Blush.

Way too much to drink, and suddenly the sound of face-planting into the floor sounds like a great idea, until you do it?

Blush.

Blushing is human nature. Blushing happens to everyone, and no matter how hard they try, eventually they will crack.

Including the Great Seto Kaiba.

Summary: Atem and Seth are resting along the Nile, trying to appreciate the view.

NOTES: Super short prompt tonight, but i hope you still enjoy it

“Darling… Darling, wake up.” Atem’s eyelids fluttered from the gentle shaking on his shoulder. He slowly stretched and yawned, turning onto his side and into the warm, naked body next to him. He hummed and buried his nose into the other’s collarbone, mumbling against the skin. “I do not wish to be disturbed right now, Love.”

Seth rolled his eyes but shook Atem’s shoulder again until the young prince whined and lifted his head, eyes narrowed in mild agitation. The priest chuckled and caught his lips in a quick kiss before pointing forward. “Look, Darling, the God Amun is giving us a gift.”

PROMPT 17: Virtual Reality Romance

Summary: Yuugi walks in on his brother during his date

NOTES: So I initially read the prompt as Virtual Romance so this is what came out, haha! 

“Oh geeze, I’m so sorry, I didn’t realize that wall would disappear!”

Yuugi blinked and stopped just outside his twin’s room. Atem had his “Gaming: please do not disturb” sign on his door but from what he could remember, his brother’s gaming schedule wasn’t until tomorrow. The violet eyed man tilted his head and peeked inside, not wanting to disturb his brother, but his curiosity was getting the better of him.

Atem sat at his gaming computer, one leg raised on his chair, while he clicked away at his keyboard. His gaming system was quite impressive; Then again, Yami Gameplay was a household name in the gaming community so he had to have a system to match his style. A three monitor system, he was encased in pulsing reds and purples, a glowing cat-ear headset perched on top of his head. On a small TV table to his right were a few take out boxes from his favorite Thai restaurant.

Atem never ate while streaming; he said it was too distracting for his viewers.

PROMPT 15: Undercover

Summary: Atem has been acting a little strange lately, so Yuugi goes undercover to figure out why. 

“So… explain again what it is we are doing here, Yuugi?”

Yuugi turned and placed a finger to his mouth, giving Ryou a harsh look. “Shush! He’ll know we’re following him!”

“Yuugi… this is Atem we’re talking about,” Ryou said, eyebrow raised, “You honestly think he’s not going to know you’re following him around like this? Why are we following him around anyway?”

Yuugi sighed and took a quick glance around the corner; Atem hadn’t left the little coffee shop he just went into. In fact, he was sitting on a stool right by the window, coffee in one hand, a muffin in front of him, and his cellphone in another. He nodded and turned back to his boyfriend. “Alright… i’ll tell you,” he said, “So I got a call from Kaiba the other day and he said that Atem’s been acting a little weird lately.”

“Really?” Ryou tilted his head. “How so? And why was he telling you this stuff?”

“I’m not sure,” Yuugi shrugged, “probably just because I’m his aibou so we are still really close. Anyway, Kaiba was saying that Atem has been rather distant and distracted lately, and always on his phone. When he asked if I knew anything, I told him that nothing seemed wrong but I could sense the hesitancy in Kaiba’s voice. He’s concerned.”

“Does he think Atem is cheating on him or something?” Ryou asked and Yuugi shook his head.

“No. He is more than confident it’s not that,” he said, “but he is starting to wonder if perhaps Atem is feeling regret from leaving the Netherworld.”

Ryou scratched his chin. “But it’s been almost three years, why would he start regretting it now?”

PROMPT 13: Sweaty

Summary: Seto likes to go to the gym to avoid everyone... well, almost everyone

Fuck. HE had to come in tonight?!

Okay, so he couldn’t have expected it to remain empty forever, but why did it have to be him? The tanned skin young man grinned brightly to the receptionist and Seto was positive he saw the man blush and stumble over his words. Then again, whenever this adonis of a man walked in, he always had everyone tripping over themselves.

Seto included.

He didn’t know his name; he’d just taken to calling him Yami due to his aura. The man exuded a strange confidence that actually frightened Seto. He was dark and mysterious, and personified sex on legs. His Yami worked the weights a lot, focusing on his back, arms and legs, and it showed. Seto had to admit, he had a great ass, and his arms. By God, his arms! They weren’t engorged like bodybuilders on steroids, but they were beautifully sculpted, his skin wrapped deliciously around the muscles.

Seto dabbed his forehead and inwardly groaned. He was already sweating.

PROMPT 11: Miso Soup

Summary: Atem and Seto talk about culture and the merits of miso soup for breakfast. 

Probably the shortest story to date, but this was a hard prompt

The subject of miso soup wasn’t brought up after that. Two weeks later, Atem woke up early on a Saturday morning and trudged downstairs with a yawn. As he walked down the hall, he slowed down and sniffed the air. Odd. He could have sworn he already smelled something coming from the kitchen, which should be impossible. Their chef didn’t work the weekends and normally Atem was the one to cook breakfast for the Kaiba family. What’s more, the fragrances coming down the hallway were familiar, yet unfamiliar at the same time.

Pushing open the swinging door, the young man blinked in surprise. “Seto, what… what is all this?”
