I find that watching football requires the right glasses. In this case, wine glasses! I watched yesterday’s PAC-12 Championship game at Levi’s Stadium paired with two fantastic wines. The first was a 2013 Martinelli Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast. I have driven by this winery so many times but never stopped. That will have to change! This 6- year old Pinot was so vibrant and fresh - cherry, strawberry, floral notes - and not a hint of age on it. The second wine - 2015 Pride Merlot - was equally delicious. I’ve had their wines many times so it was not a surprise ...but still a treat.
