"You don't understand," said the Mountain God of the Great Wild. "What we call 'fate' isn't some divine constraint. It's a single moment when you're confronted with tens of thousands of possibilities. In that instant, you can ascend to the Heavens or descend into the earth, but in the end, there's only one path you'll inevitably choose. I didn't understand it when I was younger either, but when you grow up, you'll probably understand too."

This house has sooooooo much clutter lmao. But it's definitely my favorite build to date!

i’ve been dipping my toe into 4e as of late. the core rulebooks are on my shelf, but remained unread before this week.
what sparked my interest is d&d essentials, a backward-compatible 4e reboot that came out late in the edition’s lifespan.
it features a streamlined ruleset and classes similar to the core classes, but simplified with fewer choice points.
i’d like to try my hand writing something like that for 5e. simplified classes with fewer choice points.
one good example is the sidekicks unearthed arcana from a few months ago. reading that article inspired me to explore other similarly stripped-down classes.
the NPCs in the monster manual are good examples too, like berserker or priest. both distill a class down to its essence so a DM can run them on the fly.
in my head, i envision a simplified 5e “hack”, with classes that fit on a note card. where to begin is unclear, but I love the idea of a class ready to play out-of-the-box, with little-to-no-bookkeeping.
Commission mayple story ‘priest’
Only ‘세숫물이 황산’ can use it.
