Music/Spanish Speaking Teachers, please help!
So, I don’t know if I’ve shared this here (the end of year was crazy and I have no idea what I did or didn’t do in the last week), but this year, I’ve got year 4 the first half of the week and I’m teaching Pre-K to year 6 music the rest of the week.
Our first big musical event of the year is a multicultural day, and I need to have a piece for each class to perform. Since we have a few kids from Spanish speaking backgrounds, I thought it might be nice if one of the classes did something in Spanish. I’m currently thinking year 2, since they have the most fluent Spanish speaker in the school, so he’ll be able to help the others (ok, fine, me) with the song, which means they’ll be 7/8 year olds. For an example of the sort of music I’m looking for, this is what I’m doing with year 1. If anyone can recommend anything, it would be greatly appreciated (Beannie, consider this acknowledgement and rejection of the inevitable Despacito suggestion)
Here is a really cool new music ed blog that has a teacherspayteachers store with great resources!!
