romeo was hardly the person to settle down, usually. the last person he truly loved was thousands of years ago, with a minor incident with a boy he thought he loved. romeo stayed shut away from the world for good reasons, anymore. he watched his wife and child pass in the delivery, wither away until there was no more breath to be had. she had refused to be turned, and he could never force that upon her. falling for humans was always going to be a finnicky thing, and he didnât really want to watch someone age until their death. that was until heâd met riley. riley was something else, in his opinion. the vampire was slow in letting his walls down, he continued his stupid antics no matter, but it was when they began to be more of a serious thing, that romeo really buckled down. but heâd lost himself in a moment in a blood hungry thirst -- something that broke rileyâs heart.
he tried to not feed so often, it wasnât exactly a secret between him and riley that he was a vampire, but he knew that he needed to get it under control. for rileyâs sake, at least. it was hard, it took immense control at times, he wanted to bite the younger male often when they were intimate, but always withheld. romeo respected the other. he couldnât just take what he wanted with him. his trust, his loyalty -- his love.. but romeo broke it all, instead. a hungry night and he lost control of himself. instead of just grabbing one drink to pick someone up, to compel them for him to feed, he led to it much further than it should have been. of course, he could have easily lied to riley. the hickies had since healed due to the quick nature and there were no other signs of doing so. but he told him, anyways. and why he partly expected riley to stay, he wasnât very sure. they split, and romeo left town. he wasnât the best at the heartbreak of his own doing. the rampage of killing and harm. the fact that he decided to seduce multiple people at this point because he lost the emotions to try and switch off the pain.
itâs two years later now. back in this stupid town, having been here for three days already. he honestly wasnât sure why he came back, he almost doubted riley would even still be here. heâs casually coming along the streets, enjoying the day a bit along with familiarizing himself a bit with the area again. but he can sense the energy -- energy he only got from very few select people he cared for. thereâs a sigh as he knew he wasnât far, but he still had to find him. what if he just looks sad and desperate to some of the faces that remembered him? heâs sitting on a bench for a moment, eyes closing and sighing out rather loudly. he hears a voice nearby now, blue eyes shooting up a bit and head cocking to the side as he scans the area of people. and heâs able to see riley at a diner table outside. and now he felt -- nervous. something he never felt before, honestly. why was he nervous because he had found him?
heâs getting up, moving to the outdoor seating. he hardly hesitates when heâs questioned of going through the gate. a wave of his hand as his eyes have fallen on riley. licking his lips, he breathes out a bit before heâs scooting the chair out. he was pretty straight forward, at least. sitting, his eyes are directly on his face, lips parting to speak but for a second, he loses the ability. finally. âriley.â and itâs all he can muster.
