Hogwarts isn't s a f e

The Winter Ball has been going as well as expected -- that is to say, no duels had broken out on the dancefloor. It may not have been as unifying as the staff had hoped, but it was enough of a distraction. They now had a lead on the girl, and things seemed to be looking up.

Up.

There was a loud boom, and a body fell from the ceiling, landed in the center of the dancefloor. It was a girl, stripped naked, and carved into the skin from navel to collarbone was the word MUDBLOOD. Professors and Prefects quickly ushered people out of the Hall and back into their respective houses, but far too many students had already seen the macabre disruption. Later that night, Heads of houses came into their house's Common Rooms to make the following announcement:

Margaret Johnson's body has been found, and it is being sent home to her family. Classes for tomorrow have been canceled, and shall resume the day after next. Students, do not panic. There will be increased security within the castle. No one will be able to enter or leave grounds without us knowing. Please, try to sleep well, and remember that Hogwarts will remain a safe house for us all.

Additionally, the following changes to school protocol have been made:

Prefects will now make their rounds in pairs. They are not to separate for any reason. Anyone that is found out of bed is to be returned to their house immediately. 

Curfew is now 5pm as opposed to the original 9pm.

No one is permitted to walk around the grounds alone. If you have a class in the Greenhouses, Professor Sprout will meet you in the Great Hall. You will walk over as a class. If you are late, you will not permitted to attend class that day.

All Astronomy classes have been canceled for the time being. However, you are encouraged to continue reading your textbooks for when class resumes. 

Players, you are now asked to stop posting any starters for the Winter Ball, however you may still continue any paras or chats you have going, just be sure to label them as past plots. You are now permitted to post starters that begin after students are escorted back to their house following the Ball and for the rest of the in-game week. The dates in-game in which you may post are Sunday January 1st to Sunday January 8th. Classes were originally scheduled to begin on the 2nd, and they will now begin on the 3rd. Students are not permitted to leave their houses on the 2nd. This timestamp begins now and will continue until January 10th.

When is the event over?

It’ll end at 5pm EST, nonnie! That’s when our first plot drop will be posted, and that’s when our timeframe will open up a bit. Keep your eyes peeled, and anyone that wants to post another starter for the Ball should do so within the next two and a half hours.
