The Eye-Fi card has been on the market for a while, but I rarely felt the need to upload photos in the field beyond pix I took with my iPhone (and that's as friction free as you can get for sharing photos right away). Any photos requiring a DSLR also deserved attention in Aperture for both organizing and post production. I'd used the full size iPads and Apple's Camera Connection kit to do some field capture and sharing of DSLR snaps, but it often seemed more trouble than it was worth if I wasn't on a specific job. Besides carrying the iPad and dongle, I would be carrying a sizable camera outfit, especially if I wanted to use good glass. Enter the GH2 with 14-35mm f/2.8, iPad mini and Eye-Fi card. High production value in a tiny kit. Above is one of my first shots with the GH2. For travel and live event coverage, this combo would be hard to beat in terms of capability, quality of images and speed to upload for the size. I'm bringing this kit to the PRiMO 2013 conference this week and hope to share some quality images from the event. Even Steve would probably approve. :-)
