So I found a TV channel on Xfinity, Primo TV, that airs old Code Lyoko reruns at night. I loved that show as a kid, so I've been tuning in whenever I have the time. I know they're all available on YouTube, but it's kind of fun to watch them this way.
Anyways, this channel airs an interesting assortment of shows. The channel is targeted towards English-speaking Latino kids, and covers a wide age range. The shows it airs are mostly foreign. They have both live-action teen dramas and silly animated kids shows. A lot of the animated content is from Nelvana.
Maybe I'm just overly-obsessive about my animated content, but I have noticed quite a few interesting things about this channel.
For starters, this channel is the ONLY place to watch Season 4 of Street Football. Like you can't even find that show on pirate sites. The first three seasons are readily available elsewhere, but Season 4 is only on Primo TV.
Then there's the Malaysian animated show Mechamato. The show is available in it's entirety in Malay (with English subtitles) on YouTube, with only the first season dubbed. The English dub for the second season (to my knowledge) can only be found on Primo TV.
They also have The Last Kids On Earth and Skylander Academy which I thought were Netflix originals. Well, they're available on Primo TV too.
The more I look at their animated lineup, the more it seems like they just grabbed the rights to anything that was vaguely anime-looking with an existing English dub. They have Bakugan and Beyblade, which are the most anime-looking. Then there's 3D Asian animated shows like Mechamato and Metalions. Then they have a bunch of French shows that look sort-of anime (Code Lyoko, Droners, Street Football).
A lot of their content from overseas is only available on their channel. Piracy included. I've been thinking about the actual children watching this channel. I'm picturing them grown-up, trying to find their childhood shows, and meeting dead ends.
So anyways that's my random ramble for today.
