What is Primp’s End: A Primer
(( For those waiting for the AU plot I’m working on, here’s a brief explanation of what it is and what it will portend. Below the cut is OOC. ))
Primp’s End plays with the concept of what would happen if Ayashii grew tired of Klug as a host. Klug, as young and inexperienced as he is, makes for an easy entity to possess, but definitely limits the amount of strength Aya can output through his body. To overclock it would destroy him, and leave Ayashii without a host; a most unfavourable situation that would leave him incapable of seeking a means to destroy the world that wronged him.
Cue, Lemres. A playful man who had some involvement in keeping Ayashii sealed. A curiosity would pique him into reclaiming the record for himself to study; after all, it had been a while since Klug came to own the book, and enough time to observe what the book could do.
And he is a splendid host. Certainly a more difficult one to coerce or overwhelm into possession, but his strength is well known and his reputation flourishing. A successful possession would give Ayashii a sturdier, more proficient body to use his magic to greater extents without risk of injury to the physical shell. Thanks to Klug constantly seeking out his idol, there’s many opportunities for Aya to take advantage of to at least place his influence.
But one of the things Ayashii wouldn’t be aware of is Lemres’ need to consume sugar to maintain his magical energy. He’s used to Klug not having such a weakness. With Lemres, he would constantly make the mistake of expending all of his energy to destroy, rendering the body weak - if not weaker than Klug’s more inexperienced body - and nulling out any ability to use magic.
Even greater downside: The only time Ayashii would be able to fully possess him is during these periods of time where he is weakest. Beyond that, with proper energy, his mind is as a steel trap. Even with the unsealing items, Lemres’ capricious tenacity would be an overwhelming barrier: Not impossible to crack, but certainly very difficult, and if Lemres could fight back due to having energy to cast his magic, he could fend off Aya without trouble.
Primp’s End approaches the concept of, “If Ayashii were able to overcome this by learning what Lemres’ limitation was and how to avoid it when possessing him, the effects could devastate Primp as a whole.” Lemres’ influence as an idol, his extremely strong magic; with that limiter out of play, Ayashii could very possibly succeed in destroying whatever he wished.
This is the premise of Primp’s End.
