When Princess Kira's grandfather turns his eye upon her for his new bride, she demands three dresses and a mantle made from the fur of every animal in their kingdom to escape it. When provided, the princess decides to run away. She puts on her fur cloak and disguises herself by smearing soot on her face and hands. Kira, going by Rey, finds work in the kitchen of the castle of another kingdom. When celebrations are held at the castle, Rey manages to attend them, having taken off her fur cloak, cleaned the soot off her face and hands and put on one of her beautiful dresses, where she also happens to catch the attention of the king's son, Prince Ben.
