Birthday reply for Prince Louis!

What an adorable little prince! Also a backtrack on some changes rolled out earlier...

This reply arrived a few days ago and I was so excited! 

What an adorable little prince we have! He’s grown so much since his birth reply last year. I can’t believe how fast kids grow up!

This was part of the official photos released for his birthday, taken by his mother, Duchess Kate. I was anxious to see which photo they would choose, and I have to say I’m quite happy they picked this one. We’ve got a happy, smiling baby, living his best life outside. 

The message on the back is pretty on par with the Brits. The children’s replies always mention the age (the adults don’t always, although they’re starting to). It features the black crown at the top and “Kensington Palace,” an update they made to replies recently. The other update they made was switching to a matte finish on the photos. What’s odd is this photo goes back to the shiny photo we’ve seen in the past.

While they were in the process of switching things over, some replies were the old format. But we know this is a new photo, a new reply, made after the changes. So why this is shiny, I have no idea. I have several other cards out to various members of the BRF, so it will be interesting to see if they’ve changed their minds or if this was a one-off thing. 

I haven’t actually seen very many of these replies yet on other royal mail accounts I follow, which is unusual. I’ve almost never received my reply towards the beginning before others. Most of the time people get theirs before I do, usually because they live in Europe. It’s nice to be at the beginning for once (haha!). 

What a lovely reply to add to my Cambridge collection.
