The Heart of Betrayal
Things I liked:
- I am team Rafe and I will always be team Rafe. I just love him to pieces. Like I can totally understand why Lia chose him over Kaden. Don’t get me wrong! I want Kaden to be happy too. Like he deserves happiness after all the shit he went through. Just not with Lia
- The ending of this book was so much better then the first book. Like it was amazing. Killing the Komizar then fleeing with Rafe and his band of merry men. For a minute I thought he was going to lose Lia in the river, but thankfully hey found her. Like I would have been really mad if she got taken back Venda.
Things I didn't like:
- The way Lia was leading Kaden on for the entire story was not great. Like she knew he loved her and she still did it. I get that she was trying to survive but like she could have done something else.
- The one thing I dreaded happening happened! Pauline saw the father of her child. And now its might make her question Lia and if she should trust her. I don't like the idea go Lia’s whole family thinking she was actually going to marry the Komizar. Like I hope they all can realize that she would never do that.
Overall:
- This is one of those rare cases where the sequel was better then the original. The book just had so much more going on! It was super engaging , and had a really great pace. I was just so caught up in school and tests that I didn't have time to read it. But I virtually finished it in a day. Like I have read about 100 something pages before yesterday. Then I sat down and read the rest of it in one day. So far I’m loving this series! And I can't wait to see how it ends!
- Rating: 4.5/5
