Getting some early morning cuddles from our senior love bug. He's settling in with us so well and has been such a joy to be around. He's an absolute sweetheart. I'm so glad we were able to get him off the streets and get him healthy. His fur has all grown back in nice and thick, and he's gained weight so you can't see or feel his ribs anymore. He has an extreme flea infestation from being outside, so they gave him a treatment. He's a definite senior and over 10 years old. They are fairly sure that has hyperthyroidism, but he'll need a blood test to be sure. He also has swollen lymph nodes on his belly. But other than that, he's doing great for his age. He impressed the vet and her staff with how much of an absolute love bug he is. So now that we know he's not contagious, we've got him upstairs in my office and will let him and our kitty get to know each other through the door for a while. Keep sending thoughts and prayers please! We're still taking donations if anyone would like to help cover the vet bill for today, or would like to donate to the fund to help pay for the blood test in a few weeks. Update for #princecharmingthekitteh We have a vet appointment set up for next Thursday with Hillmount Vet Clinic! I'm so glad they could squeeze him in because everywhere else was full for over a month, or they weren't taking new animals. Initial cost for the vet visit will be only $56! Thank goodness. We'll see where we go from there! He is currently eating up a storm, and has been getting more alert, so that's positive! Please keep this handsome boy in your thoughts and prayers. Rescue Kitty Update: kitty's owner was found, but sadly can't take him back. He's elderly, poor as a church mouse, and bless his kind soul, he already feeds 11 strays. He dearly wants kitty to get better, and we have found kitty a new home. But... kitty's home won't be ready till the end of November so his new mom can get settled. He is still in need of vet care, as we've learned that on top of everything else kitty is dealing with, he was also hit by a car 3 weeks ago. This poor boy cannot catch a break. We're hoping that we can help be kitty's fairy godparents and change his life around. We're going to be getting him into a vet and setting up a GoFundMe campaign for his care. It would mean the world to us if everyone could help us get this kitty healthy and to his new furever home!!
