melek’s love and affection for her aunt hürrem branched outwards towards her cousins and one of the morsel’s of joy she held in coming to portugal, was the thought that they would be reunited again. they were, however, uniquely different in characters, especially karim. there was a lot she admired about the prince, his exciting temperament and penchant for fun seemed to endear people to him, melek included and yet, in the same vein, their familial ties also made her somewhat critical. fun and mischief were all well and good in boys, but for men, and more importantly, princes, maturity and care needed to reign dominant ... unfortunately, for her cousin, he seemed to lack such admirable traits. ❛ i do worry for you, you know ? ❜ melek began, plucking a grape from the vine of their shared luncheon. ❛ your mischievousness is almost childlike and yet here you are, a man grown. ❜ her tone was thick with disapproval, judgmental in every sense of the word and yet, uttered out of genuine love and concern. ❛ i do think a wife shall settle you down, enable you to focus on what is important. ❜
