So I haven’t really quite caught up but last I heard Lestat was basically Prince of All Vampire and current host to Amel? I read one of your post saying that Louis transferred Amel out, so what does that mean for Lestat now? Is he stronger or weaker? What about his self-appointed title?
Yeah, he is, but he goes back and forth about wanting to be addressed that way. I think to strangers he prefers “Prince Lestat” to keep them at arm’s length, but loved ones, he wants them to feel closer and dispense with honorifics. Especially bc they used to call him a Brat Prince in a mocking way, so it still retains a little bit of that negative connotation. Which he sometimes likes.
It was Louis’s IDEA to transfer Amel out. Louis didn’t do the entire operation himself, but it was his idea as a safety measure for the tribe (bomb squad Louis in action!) and also bc he wanted to relieve the burden from Lestat. It doesn’t seem that Lestat has lost any power in transferring Amel out, but we’ll see, maybe he did! Lestat is still kinda considered the leader of the tribe, so to speak, so he keeps the title, even though he’s no longer carrying the Sacred Core.
I’ll be honest with you, Anon. I haven’t actually absorbed these recent books, and I doubt I ever will. I didn’t finish Realms of Atlantis and I haven’t read Blood Communion. I know the plot points bc I love being spoiled, but there’s just too much work in learning so much info that isn’t consistent enough for me to accept. There just seems to be a lot of rewards and overflowing love going around, and it feels unearned to me.
So when I answer questions about these books, look to the comments for better answers. I don’t really want to go in and validate individual responses bc it’s all open to reader interpretation, but you might find ppl who are more into discussing these books than I’m able to do!
