Well! Don't say I never give you what you want, friends and fans. Well almost. I am to be a magnanimous prince, you know, but like so many things in life I do fall somewhat short of my goals.

This isn't Louis Song. Not quite. But it is about him. The first moment I saw him, to be exact. But it is, very much about someone else as well. I'm sure you know who. And if you do not, well....time to reread my autobiography, no?

This song was NOT on the original Vampire Lestat album for the simple reason it was cut for time. Even vampires have to deal with executive meddling. the album was running long, and this song, a rather personal love song , not essential to my quest of unveiling vampires and starting an interspecies war (you know, to see what would happen) and not what my band mates thought would be a top seller, was cut. They assured me it could be on the next album, but I think they just thought it was wrong for the image. This was before vampires were meant to fall in love, remember.

You may find the solo piano line at the beginning a bit odd. It was played on the violin on the original album, and was just as out of place. That line, my dears, is the main melody of one of Nikki's compositions. His last one, or at least the last one I remember hearing. I always considered cutting it from the song, but it never felt right without it.

So this melody, and these lyrics you will only find HERE, friends and fans. An original Lestat de Lioncourt composition, hiding behind no bylines.
