"OOPS, pardon me, dearest passengers! Pardon me and accept my sincerest apologies, for I have been away for quite some time! Aha, aha! That aside, how may I help you...?"
Do your stripes keep you warm? Do you put on more stripes when you get cold?
"No, no, my stripes aren't sleeves! They're part of my skin, they're burn markings."

our characters sharing a lucid dream
There's a sigh as Batter props his bat upon his shoulder. The sky was a clear blue with hardly any clouds to count yet the sun still seemed to shine bright from behind a curtain unseen to them. It warmed his face and red eyes are brought over to the sound of another voice.
"Papa!"
From his peripherals he catches the sight of a bright red baseball cap and a white tunic. It's strange, seeing Hugo in an older form. He had to have been about five years old or so. Still very small but big enough to run around on his own and cause problems.
Batter frowns slightly but turns to face him as the young boy runs over to him. He is offering him a baseball.
"I missed... can you throw it to me again?"
There's nothing but a nod from the older man as he gingerly picks up the white ball with his fingertips from the child's grip. He turns it in his palm idly as he watches Hugo scamper off about a hundred feet.
He's not sure what's really going on but it feels more natural to just go with the flow. (It was just a dream, it felt as real as anything else. This was normal, right?) The little kid had his own glove and was waving his arm around as an indicator that he's ready.
The Batter thinks nothing of it and he positions himself to throw the ball to him. No need for any fancy movements--he wasn't aiming to throw it and intend for him to miss after all. The ball leaves his fingertips and Hugo has both arms above his head while his feet peddle him backwards, ready to catch it.

C R A C K!
A split second of red in his vision and spatters on the ground--
But he--

Hugo's grin is wide as can be as he holds the baseball up in his left hand. He's yelling something (probably incomprehensible in his excitement anyway) but Batter just stares. He thought he just...
No, he didn't. He shakes his head and walks to meet the boy halfway as he runs back up to him to give him the ball, a smile gracing the man's lips and his free hand reaching up to ruffle the soft strands of the child's hair as he takes the baseball from him.
Time flies so quickly.

☮ - Do they have an idol or someone they look up to?
>>No, not really. Generally Batter just appreciates his Puppeteers, and rarely he will get attached enough to look up to them. But most cases he does not.

"There there. Don’t be upset."
His anger cools as soon as he hears that voice. "It's hard for me sometimes, Hugo. It's a good thing I have friends like you, Thanks, little man."
