"I hope you didn't think I would forget about making us a Yule cake, hjarta mitt."
"Of course not, Prinsinn Minn! I'd never even imagine such a thing!" Thera paused a second, taking a closer look, "Are the Runes real, or just for decoration?"

"I hope you didn't think I would forget about making us a Yule cake, hjarta mitt."
"Of course not, Prinsinn Minn! I'd never even imagine such a thing!" Thera paused a second, taking a closer look, "Are the Runes real, or just for decoration?"
"What is it with gods and motor vehicles?"
[Egg-Nog Meme from @princesilvertongue.]
"Nog, please!" ------------
"Terrible news, M'Love!" Thera put on a 'shocked and distressed' expression that wouldn't be the least bit difficult to see through, paper shopping bags in hand. "We've become ... predictable!"
That dire announcement was followed by laughter as she walked (bounced, really, letting just a little bit of the season's cheer get into her mood) toward the kitchen, turning as she went to keep Loki in view. "They'd stocked up on extra chocolate, Baileys and cream!" She disappeared into the other room, set the bags on the counter to unpack.
"Do you want to start now, or leave it for a bit later?"
@princesilvertongue
"It's nearly Blue-Dress time again!"
[Gentle Meme from @princesilvertongue.]
"I brought you some tea." ------------
"Hm?" Thera looked up, not quite startled, but blinking as if the words and their meaning needed a moment to sink in. Which, as it turned out, they did. A realisation with a sequel, that she'd been staring at the textbook on her desk for some time without any of that registering either.
"Wh ..." Fingertips rubbed between her eyes and then withdrew, "What time is it?" Late, she suspected, or leaning that way - enough so that the kindness of the tea (and biscuits, unless she missed her guess) served both its own merits and an olive branch, easing her out of her reading when before she might have refused.
Also it was tea, not coffee, hinting at a call to relax rather than push on. Thera groaned, stretched her back and looked at Loki with a sigh. "Sorry, m'love ... didn't mean to be at this for so long," Or not, because she couldn't even remember the last words she'd clearly read. Another stretch popped her neck, and she offered a wry smile.
"Do you want to have those here, or somewhere more comfortable?"

"I take it this was before the whole 'Be He Worthy' nonsense?" Thera rolled over onto her side, the easiest compromise between keeping her head rested on Loki's lap and taking a sip of (heavily spiked) milkshake through a straw.
It was a bit of a belated question, given he was already a fair way into the English translation of the poem, his familiar cadence breaking every so often to add commentary (always dry, sometimes scathing) about what had actually gone on, and why Þrymskviða was only ever mentioned once.
Thera drank more of the milkshake, settled herself in again. "Did you ever give back that feathered cloak?"
[Formidable Fluff starter from @princesilvertongue.]
"There is a blanket big enough for both of us." ------------
“Uh-huh ...” Thera stood up from her seat, free hand lifting to ring the bell. “Keep talking.”
Brakes hissed as the bus eased to a halt and she skipped down the steps waiting until she was on the pavement to settle her back-pack from one shoulder to where it was supposed to go. The stop near 81st was a shade less convenient than others, but it gave the chance to walk through the grounds of the museum along the way - and after a while on Manhattan PT she needed the breath.
Well ... the breath and the smile from promises coming over the phone. Loki might be very fond of chaos, but his voice had the uncanny knack of calming her down. “This all sounds very tempting, m’love.” She set off along the path through the small garden, the city noise a little more distant. “Do you need me to get anything on the way?”
It’s also the time of year for a tradition - her ‘famous’ (to a limited audience, at least) Not-Thanksgiving turkey shepherd’s pie.
