I feel like the idea to kill off Belle in her first episode on the show is kinda dumb. Like, this is one of the best Disney princesses. She's compassionate, incredibly intelligent, has standards, and knows how to stand up for herself. So, it baffles me that they wanted to kill her honestly. OUAT can never have enough badass women

Yeah it would totally be a missed opportunity if they killed off Belle! I am so glad that the showrunners changed their minds. Though to be fair, ouat really underutilizes its female characters. Ruby deserves to be part of the main cast and get more screentime. Mulan deserves more screentime as well as her own story. And Aurora! They brought in Cinderella just to use her for basically an episode and a half? Same with Ariel! And Rapunzel (from S2) never comes back I think. I wish we got more of Wendy Darling. Abigail like disappears after S1. Belle might be a main character, but I think she gets the least amount of screentime?? (next to Henry). And these are just the women I can think of off the top of my head. I am sure there’s more. All of these amazing women, and ouat barely uses them, which is quite sad
