Insane Fnaf theory I just came up with while reviewing some Princess Quest gameplay for a fic. In the beginning of PQ4, the red king says, "You are won. And you remain." Which can also be heard as "You are one. And you remain." As in this installment, the king speaks erratically and with improper grammer and English.

But I want to go back to a feature in the 2nd and 3rd installment, the 2nd one introducing this is a shadowy version of the princess. What I find interesting is that this is introduced *after* the princess is surrounded by the virus. And then, in the 4th installment, the feature is gone again. After we defeat the virus. Except it isn't defeated. It's clearly still around in Ruin and PQ4.

So my main theory is that the princess, whether she is just a video-game character, a ghost trapped in the aracdes, a piece of one of the mimic programs, is used as an avatar for Vanessa’s consciousness, which has already been kinda said. But in my theory, Vanessa getting placed there in PQ1 and then her existing as an extension, a shadow, in the next installments until they free Vanessa with Gregory’s help in the Princess Quest ending. Basically, Vanessa and the princess are separate beings that were shoved together.

For me, it makes sense that the princess isn't just a representation of Vanessa but her own individual, seeing as she appears beyond Vanessa in PQ4.

Another interesting detail in the idea that the princess does exist as her own being is that when she has presumably been merged with Vanessa, whenever she finds an extra heart, it already has a life in it. In PQ4, when she finds a heart, it's empty. An extra space. Compared to when the player character enters the game themselves, every time they gain an extra heart, it already has a life. Implying that the princess lacks life, unlike Vanessa and the HW2 player.

This is why the king says, "You are won." Not only is the princess now singular again, but she won over the virus. She is what remains. However, the king also says, "What is left, that is hidden."

In a second, much looser theory, I believe I know what the princess is. RyeToast has theorized that Vanny and Vanessa are two separate beings and that even though Vanessa is free, Vanny still exists. Just without a body.

A lifeless, *digital* persona, which had begun to overshadow Vanessa, making her do things she wouldn't normally. So, yes, I'm saying that the princess is Vanny.

In PQ1, Vanny approaches the Glitchtrap virus, and it's like "Merge with this woman." And she does. This is why the princess doesn't allow anyone else to play the game. She doesn't *want* to be free of a host.

Until she realizes something. She doesn't need the Glitchtrap virus. She just needs a body.

**Speculation Warning**

Vanny isn't completely positive she will be successful in defeating Glitchtrap. And if she fails, she might lose Vanessa. And she can't let that happen. She needs someone else to defeat Glitchtrap for her in case something does go wrong. So she allows someone to play and "free" Vanessa from the virus.

In PQ4, Vanny, as the princess, tricks the HW2 player to merge with her. And then, uses them to bring her Glitchtrap so she can finally crush it. And without the need of the player anymore, she leaves them and fades away into the shadows.

Now, this would mean that Helpi is Vanny, which is kinda plausible since he's part of the Vanni Network.

But hey! That's just a theory I came up with in 15 minutes in the middle of the night after a very... interesting school day.
