"Oh my, you've put the boy in a dress."
A thingy i drew based off my Royal Soriku AU that i hella rambled about in the soriku discord server 😭, featuring Knight/Personal Guard Riku and Princess Sora
sora has no crown but he's royalty trust 😭
the reason sora's pouty tho is bc at first, he doesn't like having a personal guard, but you can guess how/why that changes LOL
Ugh i need the fic right noww (me to me)
Headcanon
Sora was embarrassed when the fairies placed him in that dress. There was absolutely no doubt about that. But as time went on, he began to realise he’d never felt more comfortable in his life than when he was wearing that gown. The lovely feeling of the delicate silk in his hands. The way the tiara pleasantly nestled into his hair. He felt elegant. He felt beautiful. For a minuscule window of time, he felt like something magical. A Princess.
He needs to gain that feeling again.
A few weeks after his adventures come to a close, Sora asks the three fairies to make a gorgeous, poofy, bright blue dress for him. They find the request odd, but they fulfil his wish nonetheless. Sora takes the dress home and waits until his family are asleep, just on the off chance that someone walks in. Finally, at the dead of night, Sora nervously slips out of his pyjamas and puts on the dress. Once he’s finally wearing it, he walks over to the mirror, every inch of him sweating vehemently.
For the first time in his 16 years in this universe, Sora feels absolutely wonderful about the way he looks.
Sora barely sleeps that night. For several hours, he finds himself in a constant cycle of dancing in his new dress and admiring himself in the mirror. He plays some slow music and gently sways, imagining himself at a royal ball, much like the one Cinderella once gushed to him about. He pretends that he’s dancing with Kairi, Riku, Leon, Olette, Rapunzel or anyone else he’s grown close to.
He never wants this fantasy or feeling escape him. For as long as he lives, he wants to wear this dress and be who he wants to be. Princess Sora.
The next several weeks, Sora takes almost every opportunity to be alone that he can get. He constantly tells himself that revealing his desire to wear dresses to anyone would be the biggest mistake of his life. No one, not even his closest friends would take him seriously. He’d be humiliated to the point of tears. And if he has to be by himself to be the person he wants to be, that’s a sacrifice he’s willing to make.
His wardrobe quickly becomes filled with dresses. Whether they’re blue, pink, green, red or any other colour in the galaxy, Sora will happily wear them. Especially if they go together with the slippers and tiara he purchased. He’s also very pleased to note that a couple of birds have taken notice of his new demeanour. He often leaves the window open to allow them in, so he can tend to them and feed them treats.
Meanwhile, Kairi is starting to worry over how little Sora seems to be showing up to the Islands anymore. She thinks about calling him, but suspects that he probably wouldn’t be honest with her. So instead, she makes her own personal visit to his bedroom. She’s visited him through his bedroom window several times before, so she doesn’t even consider that he might be doing something incredibly personal that isn’t for her viewing pleasure.
Sora practically jumps right out of his skin when his eyes lock with Kairi’s. Though Kairi could hardly claim to be significantly less shocked at the sight of her best friend of the last 12 years in an extravagant ballgown. Once she’s managed to regain the ability to deliver any kind of speech, she’s about to make a joke about Sora’s appearance. But the joke dies in her throat as she sees the tears begin to well up in his eyes.
Sora opens his mouth, trying to form a sentence, but nothing will come out. Not that he needs to, because in the blink of an eye, Kairi’s arms are around him in the biggest hug they’ve shared in a long time. They stay that way for a while, no words being exchanged except for Kairi whispering “Tell me when you’re ready.” Several minutes later, they break apart and Sora finally finds it in himself to speak once more. He tells her everything that led to his current clothing; from the fairies, all the way to the state of his wardrobe. Kairi is tempted to laugh at multiple moments, but cares far too much about Sora’s mental state to express even a giggle.
He finishes off by stating that he wouldn’t blame her if she ran off and never spoke to him again. But instead of doing that, she takes his hand into her own. “First of all, I would never ever run away from you, Sora.” Kairi doesn’t break eye contact for a second as she talks. “And second of all; you look wonderful.” Sora is taken aback. He’s about to respond, but before he can say anything, Kairi adds “But I can make you look even better.”
They spend the rest of the day hanging out together. Kairi teaches Sora the wonders of placing flowers or bows in someone’s hair. She tries flowers and bows of every colour, never failing to moan a loud, “awww” whenever Sora nestles one into his spikes. She then applies various amounts of blush to his cheeks; not that you could tell, as Sora’s cheeks were already pinker than bubblegum.
Kairi dedicates the next few days to making sure Sora is as comfortable as possible, even if she’s still struggling to get used to this new fashion sense herself. But eventually, Kairi tells Sora that she thinks he should tell Riku. And it takes a mountain of convincing for him to be persuaded. Until finally, he says yes.
Kairi makes sure to mentally prepare Riku first. She repeatedly tells him that he’ll likely be bewildered and that if he doesn’t take it well, Sora might just fall apart. But Riku still waits on the island, not a worry in the world about what Sora might reveal to him.
When Sora finally does reveal himself to him, a bright ballgown hugging his frame and a rose tucked in his hair, Riku doesn’t completely hide his astonishment. Sora had never felt time crawl at a slower pace than the minute that Riku stared at him, emotions unreadable.
But eventually, the silence breaks. Riku slowly walks up to Sora and places a hand on his shoulder. “I’ll admit, I never could have guessed in a trillion years that I’d see you this way” he says. “But if you ever thought I would bully you for something so trivial, you’re even more ridiculous than I thought.” He finishes with the absolute brightest of smiles.
Once again, Sora finds tears rising in his eyes. But this time, it’s accompanied with the exact opposite emotion of what he was feeling before. He already knew he had the best friends that he could ask for, yet he’d never felt more strongly about that opinion than he had in that moment.

Today’s Crossover Ship of the Day is: Queen Elsa (from Frozen)/Princess Sora (from Danger Mouse)!
Okay, so one may be a parody of the other, and also some kind of bird (whether she’s a chicken, a penguin, or something else entirely I’m not sure), but come on! A counterpart to Elsa who has ice melting powers? The perfect girlfriend for her!
