(TW:?) This beautiful comic book "Princess Princess Ever After" by Katie O'Neill inspired me so much. Here in Ukraine, you wouldn't find an lgbtq+ piece of literature anywhere, so when I saw it in the mall I was so surprised and so happy. They stopped selling it shortly after. The book is beautifully drawn, with an amazing story and characters and a great moral. I absolutely loved it. I drew this a while ago but wanted to post it when I color it. The latter photos are what happened to it today. My abusive homophobic transphobic sister tore it apart and threw it in the trash. I'm not really sure why I'm telling this but I guess people should know that these things are still happening to lgbtq+ folk on a daily basis. And they can't really get out until they do, and all they have is a support from the loved ones, and the slow process of world learning to accept. Hello people! Long time no see!!! I have been so caught up in various craziness this month that I did not get the time to post anything. But here I am again!!! I am still trying to complete my posts for the #readwithpride readathon. The readathon was hosted by @shebusybee_ @kitaabeinaursukoon @doyouevenreallyread and @thewrittenjourney_ Princess Princess Ever After by Kay O'Neill ⭐⭐⭐/5 Stars. I have read The Tea Dragon Society by Kay O'Neill and after reading that trilogy, this book didn't live up to my expectations. I mean it was nice but not that good. Despite being a graphic novel, the book kind of confused me in some bits. The story was a retelling of Rapunzel and that princess is one of my favorite. It also had an element of Snow White with the evil sorceress but in the middle, the book lost its grip making me feel not only just confused but also bored. The illustrations were super cute and that was the one thing that took away my heart. The book represented the LGBTQIA+ community and the message that even a princess can be fierce and fight instead of just wearing tiaras and quivering behind guards when someone attacks strongly gave out the message of women empowerment and that element was super awesome. So overall, this book was really good but didn't live up to my expectations and that got me a bit disappointed. You should still give this book a try as it is a short read and also cute. REVIEW: Princess Princess Ever After by Katie O'Neill Another cute read by this wonderful graphic novelist. An incredible story that shows that women don't need to just be princesses but can be so much more. I loved the relationship between the 2 main characters and appreciated that we got to see their back stories as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the resolution as well as the nickname of one of the side characters but I think a younger audience would enjoy those bits. It just wasn't for me. This cute lil graphic novel about princesses who save each other and fall in love, and also help an ogre discover his creative potential through dance, took me fifteen minutes to read and made me smile a lot. #princessprincesseverafter
