-> [ It’s a bit of a push and pull dynamic between you, annoyance and infatuation blended into an addicting mess of emotions. ] You both have pretty strong personalities, which can turn some people off—though this is more unintentional on your end, and more intentional on Sylvain’s. Despite the way you two might bicker (especially at the beginning, for reasons described below), you share a number of similarities which makes for a very fun, comfortable relationship. Sylvain can easily match your teasing, both the softer and more biting variety. There are a few subjects that are a bit touchy with him (as there are for you), but you both have no issues staying well within boundaries and apologizing when needed. You’d likely find yourself frequently shifting between being the more childish one and the more mature one in your dynamic.
-> [ The biggest area of conflict you two would have is in the nature of your first few interactions. ] Sylvain is not the most emotionally well-adjusted when he first comes to the Knights Academy, and he plays with women’s hearts to prove some insufferable (skewed) point to himself. With where you are at now in terms of protecting yourself and your peace, his incessant flirting and attempts to butter you up will only be met with annoyance on your end. Still, despite your frustration, you’re also not unnecessarily cruel when you push him away and define your boundaries. Thankfully, he will get the memo after you turn him away a couple times. Stay firm and true to yourself, though, because it will not take long for Sylvain to properly respect you.
Once you’ve established some common ground with Sylvain, you find that he’s surprisingly thoughtful and actually quite kind. It takes a bit for him to open up about his trust issues about people approaching him and trying to use him just for his Crest, but you realize that you can actually rather relate to him in this aspect because you’ve suffered some betrayals yourself. The way he had been going about reacting to his past trauma is not something you can really excuse, but you can understand why he started behaving like that.
-> [ Sylvain didn’t expect to truly fall for someone, but he finds that he can’t stay away from the feeling. ] While it does take some time for him to fall for you, he falls hard. He is also very quick to realize his feelings for you, noticing the way he no longer bothers with his insincere flirting with others, the way that you make him feel all warm and fuzzy (especially when he sees you smile and laugh), the way that he keeps seeking you out because he can’t get enough of your presence. He still flirts with you on occasion, but it’s less frequent and softer than it used to be. Others might not see much of a difference, but you’ve been able to pick up on it.
-> [ While he is generally quite straightforward, he hesitates when it comes to actually confessing to you. ] It’s because of the way he had initially approached you—he worries that you’re not going to think he’s actually sincere about it this time and it might ruin all the progress you two have made. But with conflict and the potential for war simmering within Fódlan’s borders, he realizes there’s little point in keeping everything to himself indefinitely. His confession is heartfelt but also rather sappy, something along the lines of how he has a hard time imagining his future without you and how he literally can’t get you out of his mind.
-> [ Dates can be few and far between in this setting, but tea dates are quite common for you two! ] Perhaps it’s just because so many people tend to have tea time together as a way to bond, but it’s something the two of you fall into quite easily. He’s fond of bergamot tea, but seems the type to really enjoy spiced blends like chai—you two take turns picking out the flavor for these little dates of yours. As for other dates, Sylvain enjoys sneaking off of monastery grounds with you to hit up the nearby village to do a bit of shopping or get some food at a tavern.
-> [ Lip service is easy for Sylvain, but he is a big fan of quality time and physical touch as well. ] Verbally, he is very affectionate—and once you are in a relationship, it is genuine. He may tease a lot, but there’s so much fondness in his voice that you know he isn’t meanspirited about it. Definitely the type to get clingy if he wants to cuddle, and you’d have to fight to get out of his hold if you’re getting up to grab something. He is also a bit sentimental, so quality time is very important to him because he knows that time is limited and he wants to spend as much time as possible with you while he still can.
-> [ Your clinginess may initially catch Sylvain off guard, but he discovers that he really likes it. ] You want him for him—not for his Crest. It may have taken him a little while for him to fully acknowledge and accept that (just because all of his life, his Crest was seen and valued over him as a person, even by his own family), but once he gets it through his head that you actually care for him as an individual, he won’t let you go that easily! So he’s happy that you don’t seem willing to let him go, either.
-> [ Sylvain has quite a bit of growing to do, but has proven that he’s willing to improve himself. ] This is especially the case when you’ve taken the time to get to know him even if he was pretty insufferable at first—if you’re willing to stick with him while he worked through that, then he should at least extend that same grace to you. You’re both works in progress together, and that is perfectly fine by him. He admires your desire for growth and self-improvement, and you actually inspire him to be a little more growth-oriented himself. He’s not used to people being invested in his wellbeing and future in a personal sense.
-> [ Sylvain finds the way that you keep your intelligence and abilities lowkey very amusing. ] A lot of people tend to underestimate him because he comes off so relaxed and careless, but he’s actually a very quick study and is naturally talented in general. He doesn’t blame you for wanting to keep expectations low—after all, he does the exact same thing himself because he hates the pressure of said expectations. However, he does affectionately tease you here and there about being a slacker. Yes, it is hilariously hypocritical, and you call him out for slacking just as much. You will receive no genuine judgement from him on this!

Sylvain lives in a cold climate, so you would probably do quite well and enjoy the weather if you eventually decide to cohabitate with him.
He is overall less stubborn than you are, so he’s more likely to give in if you two butt heads over something and you really refuse to back down. Not to say that he’s a pushover at all, but he’s willing to make the compromise if you’re important to him. He’s actually quite agreeable.
Sylvain would happily be your taste tester for anything you bake. He would probably propose to you on the spot if you made one of his favorites for one of your many teatime dates.

— CALEB [L&DS] -> (There was almost a full Caleb matchup written for you.)
In terms of your respective personalities, you and Caleb balance each other out. It’s a good mix of similarities and differences—there are enough similarities to keep things familiar and comfortable, and enough differences to keep things interesting. Caleb’s pining is so endearingly pathetic. He tries not to make it obvious because he feels it’s a little embarrassing being so smitten with someone that other people can see it, but… it’s obvious. You also will never need to worry about any sort of judgement or concern from him whenever your jealousy flares or you struggle with letting him go. He absolutely understands your mindset. In fact, he kind of loves it because it makes him feel needed. However, Caleb does get a little out of hand with his own possessiveness, protective to the point of being overbearing and suffocating—if that’s something you have an issue with, don’t hesitate to confront him about it.
— JADE LEECH [TWST] -> Suave, pleasant, and unpredictable. The type of guy that you can’t help but gravitate towards because he effortlessly catches your attention, even when you know it might not be the best idea to get close to someone like him. The way he keeps his cards so close to his chest makes you a little more cautious around him, but you just can’t resist trying to figure him out. It would not be easy to win Jade’s affections, but he would be surprisingly devoted once he realizes you’ve carved out a space for yourself in his heart. He would likely find your jealousy funny in an endearing way, but would not go out of his way to purposefully cause it to flare.
— GILBERT NIGHTRAY [PANDORA HEARTS] -> A sopping wet pathetic dark-haired man who seems like he could mesh very well with your personality even if he wasn't one of your types. He is a bit more subdued and withdrawn than you are, but isn’t against interacting with more vibrant and intense personalities—and oftentimes, those warmer personalities help draw him out of his shell. Gilbert is very protective of his loved ones, and once you are someone he cares about, he is going to do his best to make sure that you stay in his life. His reactions whenever you tease him are highly entertaining because he’s the type to become very flustered, which is not what one would initially expect from the way he typically portrays himself. The type to really, really enjoy hearing you sing.
