omg when i told my parents i was moving out they thought i was kidding but then i packed my stuff and ollied out one weekend and they were like "where did u go???" no but really being with roomies helps a lot and like im honestly always like "go w the flow, things will work out!" bc obv im not financially stable either but hey. so far so good. so i have hella faith in you and maybe just explaining that you and your roomies are at least financially responsible, all should work out well
Luckily my mom and I have talked about me moving out for a while (because unlike my dad, she agrees that I should move out, and while she loves me she also wants me out of her house as soon as I want to leave, haha), so it's not that bad, haha. My dad is just a worrywart, and he worries about me going into adulthood with a bunch of debt. Which kind of confuses me since I have student loans so I already am doing that.
I think as far as he's concerned, it doesn't make sense for me to move out until I have a full time job. But the thing is, I'm not gonna be able to go into the career I'm working on until the fall of 2015 at the earliest. And I CANNOT live in my parents' home that long.
But yeah, no, I def think I can do it and it will work out! Most of my future roomies are in similar-ish financial situations as I (aka except for one, none of us make a whole heck of a lot of money), I've taken on another shift at work, and I have a stash of money my parents gave me in return for me taking over my loans, which I will take a little bit of every month to cover what my job doesn't.
So it'll work out. My dad just worries a lot which is very sweet and cute in all honesty, and I get where he's coming from, but I don't think he realizes how much I can't live at home that long.
