The puppy's next phase of training is all about the towel. Biting it, that is. I am supposed to play a little with getting her to chase after the towel, then let her bite it firmly and allow her to win (ie I let go of the towel, she wins the tug-of-war). This approach will be used in her training further along to teach her to bite onto an attacker and not let go. This makes the reality of her training as a protective dog more solid in my mind, and automatically brings the reality of the current nature of humanity to life, where I must take these measures in order to protect myself and family from some potential future attack from some fellow human (or possibly animal). This shows us the extent of the problems we as a society are facing: that for so many, support from their fellow man is so unfulfilled and even the opposite, that they feel forced, or even justified, to resort to violence. The answer to this is not more violence in our system, but more support.
