the little animation I made using printing!

Semester Two Statement
This semester I chose to examine the prompt “Movement” through the movement of time. I began by looking at ways of measuring time- clocks, shadows, candles, and then moved on to explore the more abstract ways of measuring time- namely, one’s reaction to it.
My ideas were based mostly around my animation, with the other two disciplines tied in. I did this because I developed my original story as a prompt for animation and wanted to explore it further in other mediums, not because animation is necessarily my first choice.
I wanted to explore the existential horror that comes along with the knowledge of the passage of time. Not in a Lovecraftian way, but the deep-seated horror that can only come from your own thought processes- hence the initial soft, inviting looks of my character, animation, and designs- I am not feeding the viewer my fear, I am inviting them to discover it themselves.
If I am being honest, the work I put out this semester was not of the quantity I would have liked. It is certainly quality, but due to external circumstances I was unable to do quite as much as last semester.
(Note: I will be posting a few things relevant to this project after I post this- I’m simply doing it now so I don’t forget.)

Print Election Using the eraser stamp created this story board for animation.
My second elective is print. I am looking forward to create some interesting art in print.
