Lindsay P. Butterfield
Tiger Lily, design for printed textile
1896
June Groff’s colorful printed fabrics reveal the influence of her training at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. During the late 1940s and early 1950s, her textiles were used by several leading American fashion designers and in retail displays in New York. The design seen here was acquired by Jack Lenor Larsen, Inc., and was launched as "Spice Garden," the company’s first printed textile. Available in a number of color combinations, the print remained in production for over twenty years. "Printed Textile," 1947, by June Groff
