I'm starting my 2026 with a laptop that won't connect to the printer. HP laptop cannot detect the HP printer anymore, apparently. The printer is connected to the wifi, so the problem lies with the laptop.

I have restarted both, no result. I have tried installing a new printer, but to do that I need some kind of WPS PIN, which a) is nowhere to be found on a label on my actual printer and also b) is nowhere to be found when I press through the shitty options on the little display on the printer. I have tried contacting support, but to do that I need my serial number - which is nowhere to be found. It is apparently NOT any of the numbers printed on any of the labels on the printer itself, and yes I have opened all compartments to look for hidden labels.

Today I wanted to print out some pages of my Russian textbook because I had Russian lessons today (after having skipped like six lessons in a row because I had been working on my animation) and then, of course, my printer jammed. Not a big deal, I’ll just pull out the paper and try again.

It’s not like I need these pages yet, I could just leave the damn thing be, finish off the rest of my homework, apologise to my teacher that I didn’t have those pages, and everything will be fine.

Of course I don’t. Because once there is a Problem, I want to solve it immediately. So I decided to take apart my printer.

I was successful. I managed to wiggle the paper out. I even managed to put it back together again! I did end up with one extra screw though.

So did it work? Nope! It just ended up jamming with every try.

Also I came into my lesson one hour and fifteen minutes late.

What’s the lesson here? Damned if I know. Anyways I bought a new printer now. And an extra screw.
