She was helping him study for an exam at the Knight Academy, quizzing him on the material and helping him maintain his sanity when it got to be too much.
“It never seems to be so much to review until it needs to be reviewed all at once.” Pushing his bangs back out of his eyes, Link turned the pages of the book in front of him.
With a giggle, Zelda sat across from him and rested her chin in her hand. “I don’t envy you.” She giggled again when he shot her a look. “Did you find the section you’re looking for?”
“Almost...” There was a pause as she waited for him, the only sound for a few moments the sound of pages turning before -- Hissing through his teeth, he pulled his hand away from the book, wincing. “Goddesses above...” It was only a small cut on his finger, but it hurt far worse than it appeared.
Reaching across the table, she took his hand in her own and looked it over. It was almost out of reflex to make sure he was okay what with how often he showed up injured. “Not that bad, but...” A light kiss was pressed to his finger before she released his hand and smiled sweetly. “There, all better.”
His cheeks colored red and he quickly turned his eyes back down to his book, turning it around and sliding it toward her. “I found it,” he said quietly, clearing his throat, listening as she began to ask questions about material not even on the exam.
